Bright Lips, Sad Heart

Amethyst adored red lipstick, she wore it everyday. And as she and her sisters turned the spare room into one for the soon to be born baby, Amethyst wondered if her niece would love red lipstick too. They'd painted the nursery the day before, and spent the current day decorating it and putting the crib together.

After a few hours of work their oldest sister, Violet, and her boyfriend took Amethyst and Rose out for lunch. And after they'd eaten, they went for a walk along the beach as they ate ice-cream and talked. Amethyst and Rose found Violet's boyfriend very funny and as a result spent the walk along the beach laughing until tears began to spill from their eyes. Amethyst again noticed how she'd gotten the togetherness and joy she'd always wanted with her sisters. And although she thought it was a shame it took Rose getting pregnant at a young age, she still enjoyed it nonetheless.
