Rose's baby shower was held on a Saturday, and lots of "friends" and family were there. The last time Amethyst had been in a room filled with so many people, it was at her sister's funeral, and sadly the family was still as depressed about her death as the were on the day of her funeral. Nonetheless, everyone put on a smile and tired to focus on the new member of the family who was due to be born soon.
"Can you feel the baby kicking yet?" Amethyst asked her sister softly.
"Yes." Rose smiled, "Would you like to feel it?" She asked and Amethyst nodded as a small smile formed on her lips.
Rose took her little sister's hand in hers and gently pressed it to her belly. Amethyst's smile then widened at the gentle feeling of the baby kicking against her palm. Their eldest sister, Violet, then joined them and as a result of their not being any available seats around, she placed Amethyst in her lap and sat on the chair which Amethyst once occupied.
That was what Amethyst had always dream of, togetherness and joy with her sisters. And once she'd finally received it, all she could do was smile.
