Chapter three

I woke up past eight; I grabbed some bacon and toast and drank milk. I opened up my Facebook account and updated my status

“Excited to for my DATE with my best friend”

I minimized Facebook and logged onto YouTube, I searched for some songs to listen to while I clean up my room. I found the perfect song and started up cleaning, I noticed that I had a lot to clean so I started with putting all the dirty clothes in the hamper for laundry. It was a hot and humid day, I was sweating like there was no tomorrow, I thought that I could lose weight with cleaning! After I finished with the clothes, I arranged the Dvd’s and Blu-ray’s and then moved to dusting the corners of the ceiling, I grabbed a stool and started dusting. Sweat dripped on my eyes, it was very painful, I tried to remain balance because next to me was an open window. I took my shirt off and wiped my eyes, after seconds of wiping my eyes, I closed the window just to be safe then I wiped my face again and then it hit me, my shirt smelled like sweat and wet armpits, I threw them in the hamper and resumed cleaning.

Soon after, the heat began to bug me, I turned on the air conditioner , sweat droplets went to my eyes but I have nothing to wipe them since I threw my shirt in the laundry basket, so I turned every air conditioner on… But nothing worked, it was still hot! It was like an oven in my room! I could see sweat on the floor which would later make mud so I decided to take a break and lie down and point the air conditioner right at me. Being so tired from cleaning, I remained lying on bed a little longer, I began to cool off, but I was still sweating like crazy! I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but I couldn’t, the heat was too much! I opened my eyes and looked at the door, it was Rachel, smiling as she stares at me! I was a little bit embarrassed, “How long have you been there?” I asked. “Not a little bit too long” replied Rachel.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” I asked again. “I had a little bit fun watching you, I mean it was kind of fun watching you all tired and messy, I feel awful for you.” Rachel said. “I’m kind of uncomfortable actually, you should have said something, and instead you watch me.” I said, “What’s the big deal, I’ve seen you messed all the time?” Rachel said. “I mean not like this, we’re older now and I have no shirt on and you ask me why I’m feeling uncomfortable.” I said. “I’ve seen worse, remember when we were nine?” Rachel said while she laughs as she remembers the incident. “That’s when we were kids, we’re sixteen now, what would people think if they saw you watching me alone and half naked?” I said as I try to put some sense in her. “Come on, people know that we’re just best friends, and if they saw me watching you half naked and we’re alone, I’ll tell them I saw worse!” Rachel said as she laughs like there’s no tomorrow.

“Don’t bring that up again, you’re not helping, we were kids back then so you seeing that doesn’t count. I’m matured, you’re matured, and our bodies have too, so the nine year old incident doesn’t qualify to be compared to anything that happens now, so let’s just forget about that.” I said as I grabbed a t-shirt.

“Whatever… before you put on your t-shirt, maybe you should take a shower first so you won’t use another one later on, take the bath now, you’re so smelly!” Rachel said. “I have to finish cleaning first, and I’m not comfortable with being shirtless now that you’re here.” I said. “You’re being such a Diva! Fine, since you’re almost finished and we’re probably going to be late, I’m going to finish up cleaning for you, but you have to hurry up.” Rachel said as threw my towel to me.

“Really? But wait, the movie’s at 5pm. It’s only like 11am.” I said in confusion. “We’re going to art museum!” Rachel exclaimed. “The Art Museum? What are we supposed to do there? It’s kind of boring there.” I said.
