One month goes by and in February things are still cold between Mark and Derek. Meredith, Cristina and Amelia are fine with Mark, Mark had been at few dinners with his parents, but they haven't met the kids yet, Carolyn, Helen and Ellis were all happy to know that Mark was back.

Mark is walking in the hospital hallway when his phone rang. "Hey" his voice was soft as he answered.

"Why did I think I would like this job? I'm good at this job but it's boring as hell. Nothing big ever happens and 90 percent of time it's just paperwork." Lexie states without taking a breath.

"Okay hey slow down. I love you but I cannot keep up with this ranting of yours." Mark says and leans towards the nurses station, where one well known fourth year resident also was. Then he continues "So what is the problem, and why are you working on your day off?"

"This job is boring. That is the problem. I'm too young to do this. I don't get to do anything but paperwork and meetings. And I would love to know why I'm working too. I was at PT and suddenly I was filling papers." She tells at the other end.

"You need help. And I need help. I'm about to have a surgery with Derek, his sister and his wife." Mark laughs. "Why don't you drop everything and jump on a train to Seattle? Or even better: Drive yourself and everything there is left in that house you need and move to Seattle? It would be too late to help me but at least it would help you."

"Mark... You know I can't" her voice is disappointed at her own words. She would give anything to see her family face to face.

"I know. I just have to live with it for four to five more months. Thanks a lot Mayer." he tries to lighten the conversation.

"How are the kids?" Lexie asks after giving small laugh at his joke.

"Misses their mommy. Or mom as the twins say. They are way over the mommy time. Way too cool and way too hard to understand. When did they become like this?"

"I think that Seattle has boosted their egos." Lexie laughs.

"Yeah. I don't know. This just feels like my first college year. Only this time I'm in Seattle and you're at east coast. And instead of living in dorm with Derek I live with kids. Alone. In big house. I also have real job now." Mark says. Lexie just laughs at him.

"Who are you talking with?" The resident asks.

"Give me a second" Mark says to Lexie and looks towards Meredith, knowing that he wouldn't be able to talk himself out of what he just said. "My wife."

"Right. The infamous wife Derek mentioned you have." Meredith says with face that said more than enough. "I want to talk to her."

"Why would I let you to talk to someone you-" Mark starts but Meredith cuts him off.

"I want to talk with my sister. Mark, please. I need to hear her voice"

Mark sighs and rises the phone back to his ear "You're going to talk with your sister."

"What? Mark don't do this." Lexie starts to panic.

"And I'm giving the phone to her now" He hands the phone to Meredith while saying "She'll yell at me tonight, thanks to you."

"Hey..." A sigh that can be heard on the other side.

"Lexie?" Meredith asks in shock.

"Mer." quiet voice answers.

The silence falls. Mark backs up a little giving them privacy. After long five minutes Meredith finally asks: "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. How about you?"
