And nothing had gone wrong. She had her surgery and Amelia had hers. Two successful surgeries and two satisfied surgeons who were now both heading their separate ways. Lexie and Mark were getting the boys from day care and Amelia was heading towards Joe's where she was going to catch up with everyone and Addison who was leaving the next morning.

"So. How was the surgery?" Derek asked Amelia as she sat down.

"Why did I ever need drugs? I should've just gone to med school sooner. Then I would've been getting this high sooner."

"I assume it was good then." Meredith laughed.

"Wait Amelia had solo? That is so not fare." Cristina stated.

"Yeah well, you should've gotten into neuro then you would have as amazing boss as, I don't know A. Grey." Amelia gloated.

"I still can't get over it. Lexie. A. Grey. Seriously."

"I know right? I mean. She didn't even want to be a doctor." Meredith agreed.

"Okay. Now that we are at the topic, what is the exact family situation here. She is your sister?" Owen now asks.

"Yeah. I don't quite get it either." Addison said.

"She is the youngest of the five of us and Mark." Cristina started.

"She and I have 13 months age gap and Amelia and her have about four." Meredith continued.

"She also was treated like the baby of the group till... well I don't know when it stopped. Maybe when you started high school." Amelia now tells.

"When you started high school? I thought she was youngest." Addison says.

"She skipped, what third grade?" Derek answers.

"So she was smart from the start." Owen states.

"Well yeah. I guess. It doesn't explain the screaming at home when it came to her grades in high school. Not that mom's expectations weren't unrealistic at all. I mean. She yelled at her for not getting straight As." Meredith looks at the past.

"What about her and Mark and the teenagers?" Addison asks.

"We did not know about that before you did." Derek says.

"Yeah. That was a shock to say the least." Cristina tells.

"Lexie found out she was pregnant at our high school graduation ceremony. So little after she had broken things off with Mark." Link tells. "And no, I will not explain further."

"Cruel."

"I think people reading this have read about that for enough times."

"What are you talking about?" Amelia asks.

"Nothing."

"He's drunk." Jo says. "He sometimes gets like this when he gets drunk. He thinks there is a fourth wall that needs to be broken."

"I blame the lonely years of his high school" Jackson tells.

"I wasn't lonely." Links voice is more desperate than he intents.

"Lexie doesn't count. She just felt pity towards you." Jo says. The rest of the group just silently watches how this will play out.

"Why do you think you got to move out of your car?" Link asks with snarky tone.

"Hey! Do not mock my mother!"

"What?" Alex asks out everyone's confusion.

"We are drunk." Link answers.

"Lexie was my legal guardian." Jo says at the same time.

Everyone gets even more confused by that, so Jackson tells them "It was nothing but a tax fraud. Lexie got paid for fostering her and they would split the money 60/40."

"60/40?" Cristina asks.

"If you never listen to me on anything, listen to me now. Do not, and I mean DO NOT, do a bet with Lexie Grey." Jo tells them.

"Why is that?" Meredith asks.

"She doesn't do bets she doesn't know she will win. It's really sad that it took us 15 years to figure it out."

"Maybe you. I never learn." Link admits. "I currently owe her like 1500 bucks."

"I just paid her 600." Jackson agrees.

"It took me 15 years to learn." Jo sighs.

"Well to be fair, this last one was whether or not she would walk again. Everyone was saying she would not..." Link says.

"What do you mean walk again?" Amelia asks.

"You do see how she waddles? Like a duck?" he asks and the table group nods. "Yeah she had one of her legs fully paralyzed less than 7 months ago."

"And the other one is amputated." Jackson adds.

"You two talk too much." Jo tells them.

"She has a blue badge on her car for everyone to see."

"She barely uses it."

"The key word barely."

Happy New Year! Well New Year. This chapter is kind of a filler kind of not? It's short. I think it's the shortest of them all. Anyhoo. When I started writing this thing back in 2020, I didn't think it would go this far. It's 2023 and Lexie's plane will crash in little over a month. I'm having a crisis.

Hope you enjoyed this despite my still strongly going writers block. I want to go back to my high school math classes. That was the time I wrote my best chapters.

The chapter title is Five Fingers Death Punch song.
