Lexie and Link are walking in the main lobby when they hear two very familiar voices. They turn to look and see two women talking, loud. "Mom. For the last time I don't need this. I am an adult. I can make my own decisions. If I say that we have talked about marriage. We have talked about marriage. We agreed not to do it. Doesn't mean we need consulting about it. So stop harassing me about it."

"What is it with everyone and therapy today?" Link asks her, as they look at Amelia and her mother fight Lexie just shakes her head with no answer.

"I just don't understand. Derek is married. Meredith is married. Cristina is married. I just don't understand why wont you and Link get married."

"Oh don't forget Mark and Lexie!"

"Should we save her?" He asks again.

"Way a head of you." Lexie says as she walks towards the two women. "Shepherd! First, keep me out of this. Second, do you think your brother is willing to hand you over for today?"

"Dr. Grey! I don't know. Why?" Amelia looks at her. Surprised.

"I might have a solo case for you. It just came in, and I would of course do it myself, but I got something else already."

"I don't care if he is willing to let me go you're his boss you can tell him to back off."

"Yeah... It doesn't work quite like that. Maybe we go ask him. I'm sure Link can continue from here. He has nothing else to do. If you don't mind of course, Mrs. Shepherd." Lexie looks at her god mother.

Carolyn just nods smiling, in shock, Lexie gestures Amelia to walk away pushes Link towards his girlfriend's mother and starts walk after Amelia. They can hear Link yelling Lexie's name as the two childhood friends walk away.

"Thank you." Amelia sighs in relief.

"Oh don't thank me yet. We still need to talk to Derek."

"Wait you do have a solo case for me? I thought you just tried to help me out."

"Well there is a case that just came in. I was going to just hand it to Nelson, but then Link and I saw you and your mom and he wanted to save you from the situation. I just got two birds with one stone. Well maybe three. It's always nice to throw him under the bus."

"Let's find my brother then." That's when they hear the noises of the on-call room. They found him, and his wife.

"God I miss Mass Gen..." Lexie mutters under her breath.

Amelia knocks at the door and yells "I don't understand how you can do that while your mother is in the same building. Both of yours."

"For Gods sake" They can hear Derek mutter before the door opens. "What do you want Amy?"

"I'm off your service." She tells him smug grin on her face.

"What? But we were supposed to have that tumor removal."

"And now I have... What do I have?"

"Aneurysm." Lexie tells them leaning to the wall.

"No. You can't have her, and-" Derek starts but Lexie cut him off.

"She won't be on my service. She will go solo."

"My answer is still no."

"You know what you are a terrible brother who-" Amelia starts and goes silent on Lexie's hand gesture.

"Fine. I guess I give the case to Nelson. I might also go talk with your mom. I'm sure she will love to hear the story of you breaking that one thing of mine that you-"

"OKAY! She's all yours." It's Derek's turn to cut her off. "You are mean woman you know that?"

"You don't get where I am playing nice." Lexie gives him innocent smile. "And maybe get some pants on before some patients family member sees you. I don't have energy to tell you how inappropriate that would be."

Derek turns bright red as she closes the door. Then moment later they can hear Meredith laugh at him and asking what her sister was talking about. And out the door as Lexie and Amelia start to walk away, Amelia asks the younger woman the same thing. "Oh. It's really between me and him. And something that happened maybe 17 years ago. I think."

"Well it must've been bad if he still doesn't want anyone to know about it."

"It's more embarrassing than bad. But yes. He doesn't want people to know."

They walk towards the nurses station when Amelia suddenly says "Can I ask you something?"

"It depends."

"How did you do it? I mean. How did you go from being the second Grey to, this?" She asks gesturing all of her.

"Professionally? Learning how to use my words, photographic memory and as my former chief said 'naturaltalent.' As a person? I don't know what the hell you are talking about because as adult as I am, I have no idea who I am."

"Are you sure? You seem so put together."

"Yeah. I'm sure."

"Well that's good to know."

"Is this about the conversation you had with Carolyn?"

"Maybe."

"Isn't it enough that you gave her, her first grandchild?"

"That's what I'm saying!"

"Anyways. This is your chart. Do me a favor and don't kill the patient. Page me if anything goes wrong. If not I will find you after my surgery is done. Good luck."

"Thank you. I won't let you down."

Hello. It's not that good. I know. My quality has worn off in the past few chapters. I'm trying to fix it. It's also shorter than usual. Needed to cut it off from somewhere. I was in a train for over three hours so I decided to write.  So hope get something out of this. Also I'm still trying to get my everyday life to work but it's kind of hard. I grew up in countryside and suddenly moved to on of the 8th biggest cities of my country. Go from less than 2000 people in my town/village (what ever) to over 100 000 people city. For some it can sound small but in the scale of this country... Well yeah. Thank you for coming my ted talk or what ever.
