Alec put his phone back onto the nightstand and then turned back to face Magnus. His fiancé was still sleeping peacefully beside him and he looked so relaxed and carefree. Alec only hoped that those were his actual feelings and that he didn't feel pressured.

Gently, Alec pushed back a small lock of hair that had fallen in Magnus' eyes. He tucked it behind the younger man's ear and lightly stroked his cheek. In Alec's eyes, Magnus was a purely angelic being and that his light was starting to shine again.

Trying his absolute hardest not to wake the sleeping man, he lightly kissed Magnus' forehead before carefully slipping out of bed, out of Magnus' grip. He utterly adored Magnus with all of his heart and waking up beside him wouldn't ever get old.

Alec padded silently to the kitchen after pulling on some sweatpants. He wanted to make Magnus breakfast in bed, just to show his fiancé how much he truly adored him. He opted for waffles with whipped cream and strawberry sauce with some coffee. One, it was easy to make and wouldn't make too much noise and two, it was Magnus' favourite.

It only took around fifteen minutes to prepare the food and make the coffee so Alec took it back to their bedroom where Magnus still was. He hadn't moved from when Alec had gotten up. Gently setting the tray down, Alec freed his hands and then went around to the other side of the bed.

"Magnus, baby, it's time to get up. I made you a surprise." Alec said softly before lightly kissing Magnus' lips.

Magnus stirred after the kiss and started to open his eyes. He smiled at Alec's love and compassion - he definitely didn't take waking up like this for granted. Just add this to the mile-long list of reasons why Magnus loves Alec.

"Good morning, Alexander." Magnus said sleepily, his morning voice was so cute.

"I made you waffles." Alec explained as soon as Magnus started to get up. His eyes showed surprise and adoration, this was something new for him.

"Thank you, Alexander." Magnus said softly before kissing Alec's lips again. Alec was truly an angel that had fallen from heaven, and he belonged solely to Magnus.

The doorbell rang later that afternoon and Alec instantly suspected Isabelle. She was the biggest Malec shipper out of all their friends and family. It was cute and annoying at the same time. Sure enough, Isabelle was on the other side of the door, just as Alec had predicted and as soon as it opened, she entered the apartment.

"Magnus, I wanna see you with that ring on your finger right now." Isabelle said excitedly as she continued into the living room area where the aforementioned man was laying on the sofa, wearing one of Alec's old t-shirts and some black ripped jeans, watching cartoons.

He turned the TV off and sat up, holding his left hand out to Isabelle so that she could admire the intricately decorated silver band around his finger. It was still shiny and glinting as it had only been there for less than a day.

"Well, my brother certainly did a good job picking out this ring." Isabelle said happily as she lightly held Magnus' hand in her own.

"Okay, whilst you two talk jewellery and girly stuff, I'm gonna go out and get some stuff for dinner." Alec explained as Isabelle released Magnus' hand, cutting in before the conversation became unbearable.

There was shuffling from the other side of the wall as Alec pulled his shoes on. Keys could be heard jangling and Alec grabbed a jacket as it was autumn and New York autumns are cold. Not as cold as winters but still cold.

"Now tell me, does Alec have any pet names for you? He always says he doesn't do that, but I want to know the truth." Isabelle asked as soon as the apartment door closed, wanting to get everything out of Magnus and expose her brother.

"He calls me baby." Magnus confessed. He really liked the nickname though, he'd never been loved enough to receive one before.

"I knew it. Anyway, do you have any wedding plans yet?" Isabelle moved the conversation in the direction she had been meaning to keep it in.

"Uh yeah actually, we want a kind of winter wonderland theme. That's my dream. And Alec said that anything is okay with him as long as it ends up with me being his husband by the end of the day." Magnus responded, smiling at the word 'husband'.

"Oh my god, my brother is so cheesy." Isabelle said involuntarily once she heard about what Alec had said about their upcoming wedding.

"Well yeah, but I wouldn't want him any other way. I love him the way he is." Magnus said in Alec's defence. Alec changed his whole world.

And now he would get to marry him.
