Not a single bone in Nini's body wanted to be sitting in this car on the way to Los Angeles and the opposite direction of home. Moving was the last thing she wanted to be doing right now but she had no choice. Her mom had gotten a new job which meant taking their entire family from Salt lake city, Utah to Los Angeles, California. Nini wasn't great with change. Especially if it meant living in a different state without her friends where she knew no one. Her moms kept telling her that this move will be good for her. She loved singing but has never actually performed in front of an audience due to her stage fright. Sometimes if she gained the courage, she would sing in front of her moms or close friends but it was rare. Back in SLC she was a part of the theater department at her old school but she was always backstage while she watched her friends Carlos, Seb, and Kourtney shine onstage. But being in the spotlight was definitely not her thing. No matter how much she wished she wasn't so scared and could sing in front of others, she froze everytime she had the opportunity.

"Nini, did you hear what I said?" Mama D looks back at Nini who quickly looks up from her phone. "Sorry, what?" Mama D looks back forward at the road ahead of her. "We're almost home!" She looked over at Mama C smiling. Home, Nini thought. Home was 9 hours away in Utah where her best friends were hopefully planning a way to come steal her and take her back to Salt Lake City. They finally pulled into the driveway of their new house and her moms excitedly exited the car and headed towards the front door. Nini took a deep breath before exiting the car and following her moms inside. The house was a decent size, it was only just the three of them so she didn't expect anything huge. Mama D had gotten a job at a music school teaching younger kids and Mama C was able to transfer to offices in LA and keep her job. They were both so excited for a new start and to start working, Nini was the complete opposite about having a new start. All she could think about was leaving her friends behind.
