Anime Tournament of Power 2 (ATOP 2)

Chapter 1: Dear Readers

(Hey hey, the actual story starts in the next chapter but there are a lot of important details that are mentioned within this chapter so skip if you're impatient you are granted permission to skip this introductory/explanatory chapter. With that being said though, the things stated in this chapter do answer a lot of questions you may have. So if I were you I'd read it real quick before you dive in. And if it wasn't clear enough you've probably never read the first ATOP. So I strongly advise you to find it on my page and read that first. Carry on whether it is patiently or impatiently and don't forget to vote.)

Hello, hello, hello my fellow readers. For some of you, this will be a new experience while for others this is your reward towards a continuation. The sequel to a grand tournament that hosted 12 universes filled with iconic characters from well-known animes. The battles were epic, truly something to remember.

However, after finishing the first one I've realized a lot of things I've done wrong and a few things that I've done right. And I've concluded that it's only right to make a brand new one, a better one.  I will not lie and say that I've been working diligently on this project ever since I ended the first ATOP. Because I haven't, due to numerous reasons.

For one, writing is stressful. I'm sure everyone can agree with that, and it gets harder when you find an audience who likes what you write. Because you want everyone to be happy and for everyone to enjoy the chapter. That's a great thing to do however I've come to realize that you have to do it in moderation.

I've said it before but I want to state once again that when I first started ATOP I had a lot of fun writing it. It was an original idea that I thought would be fun to write, I never wrote for views in the beginning. But it attracted people and more and more people, and I found this book has a small fan base.

It was great at first I loved responding to every comment and conversating with fans, it was nice. Then it wasn't . . .

The whole comment section started to get very toxic with people arguing and debating that certain characters would beat so and so in a fight. And I tried handling it positively but it got draining, to a point where my posting became very inconsistent. And from the middle and to the end the rest of the story became pretty dreadful. I just wanted to finish for the sake of the nice ones who were very supportive from day one.

And then with ATOP done I found myself free from the shackles of writing something that was killing my mental state. So I then made CTOP which is a spin-off series where instead of anime characters it was cartoons. I made a couple of chapters and I like everything I've done so far but I, unfortunately, had to temporarily stop.

[Personal Life Stuff Start]

My job became more needed for workers due to a lot of people quitting, and I had also been enrolled in a college program for HVAC. Due to me making a drastic change of career paths, and on top of that I also fell in love. Something I was never looking for but it happened anyway, but in short, I've been extremely busy.

I still am if we're being honest however I'm finishing up school pretty soon and work has been a lot less recently so I've been getting into things that I've dropped. So the reason I'm starting this is to show that I haven't forgotten or that I've put it off to the side for good. I thought about it numerous times but I've decided to start and finish this. I can't promise that it'll be consistent or fast but I do plan on working on it.

Okay sorry about that little rant, but I just wanted to give a little explanation of where I've been and what I've been doing. Moving on, we're here for ATOP 2 baby! I have another disclaimer something I wish I would've said for the first one.

All characters are nerfed and buffed to be around the same balanced strength. Now allow me to explain what that means. I believe any fan of anime would agree that some characters are logically stronger than others. Like it's obvious that Jiren is stronger than Krillin. That's undeniable. (Hopefully to all reading this 😐)

But to say Jiren is stronger than Inosuke, me at least would say Jiren is indefinitely stronger because it's just fitting you know. However on that there are some matchups where it's hard to truly determine the result, unless you're completely bias. A famous one Goku vs Saitama, bro that debate has been in the air for years because it's really hard to judge considering they're both powerful characters.

And with that exact problem was what caused conflict in the first ATOP, I didn't make any rule stating that all the characters were set to an equal-ish standing. So I'm here now to state that once again that all who are obviously weaker are buffed to match the levels of those stronger. Further explanation on that though, you're not gonna see Mumen Rider obliterate Aizen in one shot. But this rule that is clearly stated here 👆🏾so that fights can happen without arguing. The rule is simply made so that this story can simply bring our imagination to life. To see matchups we'd never see, and on to the second one.

Secondly I'm stating here that all the characters being used in this tournament will be strictly anime based. For the soul reason of I'm not all into reading manga, I'm not saying I hate it. I've read some amazing mangas if I'm being honest, but still it'd be a lot to catch up with. It's the same way with the anime too tho because you guys recommended a boat load of animes for me to watch and I could only watch so many. So quick warning if you don't see an anime you recommended don't think I hate you. It was just overwhelming what was on my plate.

And lastly something that was not explained in the first one because no one actually questioned me on this but I think it's important. So the third and final rule is characters who've died are taken from points in time before their defeat and/or death. And in addition to that, characters can't explain to the defeated about their demise. With some characters it wouldn't really matter much if they knew they died or not but for others it would drastically change their character.

Hmm, that's really all I have regarding all the rules and what not so that y'all can't harass me when the first chapter drops. But I guess I do want to say that I want this to be a fun environment for all but that doesn't mean I'm not also declining criticism or advice. Because from all I learned through comments of ATOP, I can confidently say that I've improved tenfold. So please, please comment whenever you can and vote for the chapter because stuff like that keeps me motivated to continue writing. Also if you guys could do you're absolute best not to spoil anything that happens in the mangas of any of the animes mentioned that would be great.

Alright . . . I think I've spoken enough let's get into the first official chapter of the long awaited ATOP 2!

Donniedrako15 There is no lie when I say without this amazing person, I would not have touched Wattpad ever again. I originally planned to quit like I previously stated however after months on end of song recommendations. Getting me into Webtoon, sharing his original works with me, giving constructive criticism and friendly feedback. I finally have the drive to get back into it. So I really do want you all to thank this man because without him this book wouldn't be here today. So with that, let us begin another epic journey.
