Our scene was set in a small room which was pretty empty all that was there was a glass table with two couches on each opposing side. The interior was a nice all-white paint across the smooth wall, a flat-screen tv was mounted up on the wall in the middle of the room. One of the walls was replaced by a giant see-through window where it was shown that this was a skyscraper. The view showed a city-like perspective filled with buildings of various heights and flashing lights.
In that very room through Overhaul and Nine were seated on those white couches, sitting across from each other. Overhaul was sitting with a bit of hunch in his back leaning forward, his hands were intertwined loosely. And his legs were a bit spread out, resting his elbows on his thighs when he apologized.
"Sorry about the walk, I loathe rooms that are cluttered. It makes it way too easy for germs to contact everything in the room, this room though is up to my speed."
On the other couch was Nine sitting with one of his legs crossed over the other, he tilted his head slightly when he reassured.
"I don't mind, I wouldn't call myself a germaphobe but too much filth can get bothersome. I take it you wear your mask to prevent breathing in pathogens?"
Overhaul answered the question indirectly.
"Is that not why you wear yours?"
Nine shook his head to the side with his eyes closed before he explained.
"Not at all, it more so helps me breath easier. My initial quirk, the one I was born with damaged my body's cellular tissues. Unfortunately, I couldn't handle the recoil of using my power. Put that on top of a transplant that I got recently, my body isn't exactly in the best of shape."
Overhaul seemed puzzled by this explanation causing him to get intrigued by the strange story when he questioned.
"So you're based on what you just told me, you're on death's doorstep. That much is clear but what I don't under is why you'd decide to participate in this tournament if you're in your current state? Unless you plan on using your wish to fix your body."
Nine stated with a few hand gestures.
"Well that's the thing, I've been pondering on what I should do with my wish. I could use it to gain a cell manipulation quirk to therefore fix myself up but I've been thinking . . ."
"Is that what I want? I heard that you could wish for whatever you desired, should I waste such an opportunity on such a personal matter?"
Overhaul responded by answering a question with a question.
"It's your life you're talking about here though, what could be more important than that?"
Nine replied with some speed and confidence in what he said.
"More important than my life you ask? My ideals, the reason I fight in the first place is what's so much more important. I have allies back home that support my dream to make the world back home ideal. I believe the strong should rule over the weak."
Overhaul sort of interrupted by chuckling.
"Wait so let me get this straight, you're some kind of hegemonic social Darwinist?"
Nine's eyebrow twitched a bit when he implied.
"I'm serious, the society you and I live in is undoubtedly injustice. I want to build a utopia where the strong will rule over the weak, in that type of world, labels like 'heroes' and 'villains' won't be necessary. Power should be the only factor that matters in a superhuman society."
