"Yah, You are asking as if he is your lover boy? You came to one of the most famous detectives. Keep faith in us. We will solve it. I mean, He will solve it. I am not so good in this." Jungkook snapped.

Both of them turned their heads towards Jin.

Jin had been listening intently as Mr. Smith recounted what had happened. After the man finished his narration, Jin sat quietly, his eyes closed. He was lost in thought.

"Jin hyung looks ugly when he is serious, Right?" Jungkook muttered to Mr. Smith.

"Yah, I am all ears. Don't you dare to say I look ugly." Jin spoke out.

"Then, Why are you sitting as if you are a teenage boy who was just scolded after asking how babies are made?" Jungkook chuckled.

Jin raised his brow with still his eyes closed and then relaxed.

All this time, Mr. Smith was looking at Jin expectantly. Though, he did not have 100 percent hope on seeing how funny his assistant was trying to make the situation. Suddenly, Jin opened his eyes and got to feet with a lithe movement.

"Mr. Smith, let us go to your house immediately. I assure you that I will do all that I can to recover the lost piece of the ornament. And put your 100 percent hope on us. We don't let our clients down." Mr. Smith was starstruck at about how Jin was able to read his mind.

The three men left for Mr. Smith's abode in the suburb of Streatham. Once, they passed through the gates of Mr. Smith's house, Jin took out his magnifying glass and began to look for clues. Then he went off towards the stables where the horses were kept. Meanwhile, Jungkook and Mr. Smith went inside the house. Smith's niece, Emma, was waiting for them. Jungkook kept trying to flirt with Emma even after noticing how pale she was and even more distressed than her uncle.

On seeing Mr. Smith, Emma asked him if he had done anything to set Harry free. But Mr. Smith said that the matter was still under investigation. Emma protested that Harry could not have stolen the gems. "Then why is he not more forthcoming about what happened?" asked Mr. Smith. Emma again beseeched him to drop the matter but he replied that he could not afford to do so unless the gems are recovered.

After some time, Jin came in. He asked Emma if she had heard anything suspicious the previous night. She said that she hadn't. Jin asked Emma many questions. Emma told him that she had locked all the windows herself and they had remained locked until that morning. She also informed Jin that she suspected that Y/N and the maid, Charlotte had something to do with the theft. She had caught Charlotte talking to her boyfriend and  both Y/N and Charlotte entering the house through the back door. Both of them had probably  come to steal the ornament, sell it off and then use the money lavishly in clubs.

"What is Charlotte's lover's name?" asked Jin. "Stephen Prosper. He runs a pharmacy." replied Emma. "Does Mr. Prosper have a mechanical leg?" asked Jin. Emma looked astonished. "Why, yes, he has. But how do you know that Mr. Kim?" Jin smiled enigmatically and said. "It is my business to know such things, young lady."

Next, Jin went to Smith's office room. He inspected the bureau and then turned to Smith. "Do you have the key to this bureau, Mr. Smith?" Smith produced the key and Jin opened the bureau. There was no sound as the lock opened and both Jin and Jungkook made a note of it. "So you are convinced that it was your son who opened the bureau and made off with the missing stones, Mr. Smith?" Smith nodded. "Can I see the ornament?" Smith took the jewel case out and opened it.

The Scarlet Ornament lay on its blue velvet bed in resplendent repose. Of the original 150 stones in the necklace, 35 were missing and a crack ran along one side of the ornament where it had been broken. The earrings lay untouched. Jin subjected the necklace to a close inspection. He took it in both hands and tried to break it into two pieces. But he failed to break it.

"Jin hyung, Do you need my help?" Jungkook peeped.

"No, I don't want to break this ornament." Jin replied and Jungkook pouted.

Jin said, "Mr. Smith, it is my opinion that both your son and your niece are innocent. If the jewel broke it would do so with a very loud and snapping sound. From the beginning I had a feeling that your son was speaking the truth." Mr. Smith looked perplexed. "But I saw him with the ornament in his hands and her looking really anxious and continuously checking if someone is seeing them. What more proof do you need, Mr. Kim?" Jin smiled. "Sometimes the eyes can deceive us, Mr. Smith. At such times, we must look beyond the obvious. Otherwise, the truth will elude us."

Mr. Smith did not look convinced. Jin patted his shoulder and said comfortingly, "Don't worry. I think I can prove to you that both your son and your niece are innocent beyond a shadow of doubt. Just tell  me one thing---Was your son or your niece wearing shoes when you accosted them?" Mr. Smith was silent for a moment as he tried to remember the events of the previous night. Then he said, "No, Mr. Kim. I distinctly remember that none of them was wearing any shoes." Jin nodded as if Smith had confirmed something that he had already known.

Asking all the others to remain inside the house, Jin went out saying that he needed to carry out some more investigations. They saw him going towards the garden. An hour passed. Jin was busy in the garden bending and examining things which seemed to interest him.

While inside,

"Hey, may I know how your eyes are shining with that sparkle even when you look so dull?" Jungkook asked.

"That's the reflection of light." Emma responded annoyed.

"Oh, Does that mean even the light is attracted towards you?" Jungkook asked biting his lower lip.

"No, But in the future, my slippers might be attracted to you." Emma replied.

Jungkook gulped. He has been flirting with Emma as he was bored for over an hour and she is now clearly pissed off.

Just then, Jin came back and announced, "Mr. Smith, I am going home now. I think I have seen all that there is to be seen here. Rest assured, your problem will solved soon." Mr. Smith looked as if a huge burden had just lifted from his shoulders. "Is there anything further for me to do? Will you be able to recover the missing piece?" he asked eagerly. Jin replied, "Present yourself at my house tomorrow morning at 9'o clock, Mr. Smith. You will recover what you have lost but you may have to part with some money to get it back. So be prepared." Then, Jin and Jungkook took their leave.

On the way back,

"Jisoo is not a bad hit. She does look stunning."
