"San! Wake up!"

San gasped, his brain rising from the nightmare and into reality. He looked to where Hongjoong had his hands reached in front of him, out to grab at San if he needed to.

"You were shouting in your sleep." Hongjoong's eyes were still wide, nervous as he looked over San.

"He wasn't just shouting, he was screaming." Zach said as he sat up and peeked around one of his bed curtains to look at San and Hongjoong.

"Go back to sleep."

"No point now." Zach stepped out of bed and walked toward the door. "I'm going to shower."

The bed shifted as Hongjoong sat down and stared at San. "What was the nightmare about?"

"Nothing."

"You were talking. 'Not my magic. It was me, it was me.' You were screaming for your father."

San clenched his eyes shut, his hands rose to cover his eyes. The heels of his palms pressed into his eyes as if he pushed hard enough he could push the rising images from his head. Images of his father. His body physically recoiled from the thoughts. He hadn't been screaming for his father, he had been screaming because of his father.

It had been almost a year since he had that particular nightmare, his brain had other things to plague his subconscious with. His mother's death, Anchor Mortem, and many other things. It was strange that his Mind was trying to drag those memories up now.

"I'm fine now. It was just a stupid nightmare." San straightened and looked at Hongjoong. He willed calm and boredom into his expression. He shrugged as he stepped out of bed and moved to his trunk to look for some clean robes.

Hongjoong stayed on San's bed for just a moment extra, his face tense and unbelieving of San's bluff. But he didn't press the issue, instead he stood and walked over to his own trunk to start putting on his own robes.

San was quiet at breakfast, the night before consumed his mind, and the nightmare that followed seemed to continue creeping back to the front of his thoughts. Even as he tried to shove it down and down.

He didn't eat much, he barely looked out to his fellow housemates, he was so engrossed in his own thoughts. The good and the bad. He firmly pushed the thoughts of his father back where they belonged, in the long forgotten recesses of his mind. Where he hoped they would stay for a long time.

He walked out of the great double doors and down the almost invisible path under too much snow to Care of Magical Creatures which was to be held on the edge of the forbidden forest. They were just finishing up the unit on ice bidgets, small bat-like creatures that crawled with hooks from the tips of their wings up the bark of trees and would pretend to be hanging icicles to ensnare their prey.

Suddenly he was pushed to the ground from behind and stumbled and slid in the snow as he fell. His bag fell off his shoulder and slid down the hill, spilling its contents, trailing them down the gouge in the snow as it continued to slide.

Laughter arose from behind him, San looked around to see Daane walking with several Slytherins past him. All of them laughing unabashed, several even went out of their way to kick San's stuff further down the hill. He glared at the slytherins, every muscle in his body wanted to get up and storm after the group. A shout made him hesitate.

"Oh my god San!" Mingi yelled from farther up the hill. He ran down to help San up, dusting the snow off of his robes. He cast a warming charm and instantly San felt the prickling warmth of the spell surrounding him. "Are you okay?" Yunho was close behind him, walking past the two to start picking up San's things.
