Another three weeks had passed and Heather got nowhere close to finding the gauntlet. The only thing that was coming up was the stupid Halloween dance that Casper High decided to put on this year. It was an excuse for the students to have something to do, but it was pointless at how much drama it caused in the student body. Girl's spent their days worrying about not being asked and boys spent their days stressing over who to ask. It annoyed Heather and if it wasn't part of her assignment, she wouldn't even bother going. Walker had contacted her earlier that week and filled her in on details about Freakshow. From what their sources said, Freakshow had been captured by the Guy's in White. She had mixed feelings about this but for now, she decided that she felt at least a bit safer. Sighing, she opened her locker and put her books away.
"I don't know who to ask!" Tucker exclaimed exasperated. He threw his hands up and slammed them dramatically onto his locker.
"Well at least you're not stressing over being ask like Star over there." Sam rolled her eyes. They looked over their shoulder at Star, who was practically crying to Paulina about how she's sure she won't get asked.
"These dances are so dumb."
"Worried you won't get asked?" Heather raised an eyebrow at her. She scoffed turning her head and murmured never.
"Did anyone ask you?" Danny asked walking up to them. Heather nodded and held up three envelopes.
"I'd rather go alone." She sighed.
"Who did you ask Danny?" Tucker prodded. He already knew who he was going to ask and there was nothing more that he enjoyed then teasing his best friend.
"Don't tell me you asked Paulina. Do you enjoy lowering your self-esteem?" Sam bit sarcastically.
A smirk appeared on his face and Sam tilted her head. "She did reject you didn't she?"
Danny smirk widened. "Actually, she said yes." He shrugged. Sam and Tucker nearly lost their minds.
"WHAT!" They yelled in unison. Heather looked at them with indifference in her eyes.
'Thank goodness he wasn't going to ask me.' She mentally told herself relieved. Danny was about to speak when the Latina approached him, clinging onto his arm seductively.
"Danny" She whined, leaning her protruding chest unnecessarily against his arm.
"Pick me up at 7 okay? And make sure to wear what I told you." She turned her attention towards Heather, her features turning dark. "And don't bring that along." She spat.
Leaning in closer to Heather, she whispered, "Have fun watching me dance with your man," and bounced off. Heather glared daggers at her and rolled her eyes annoyed. The other three looked at her confused and she shrugged it off.
"So who asked you Scarlett?" Sam inquired, changing the subject swiftly. Heather snorted.
"Dash. Three times." She rolled her eyes and ignored Danny's scowl.
"He won't give up, I swear he is so-"
"Scarlett please go with me!" Dash's voice rang out down the hall. He was running idiotically with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He stopped in front of her panting, thrusting the bouquet in her face. She took it out of pity and sighed again.
"Will you stop bombarding me if I say yes?" She demanded. He nodded and his face lit up slightly. She sighed again putting her fingers to the bridge of her nose. "Fine, I'll go with you. Just leave me alone." She breathed out in annoyance.
He smiled like a goon and turned his attention towards Danny, who was glaring at him.
"What are you looking at Fen-turd!" He snarled, picking him up by his shirt collar. Danny was going to respond when Heather demanded him to leave. He placed Danny back down and snarled again, walking away. Danny growled under his breath, snatched his lunch from his locker, and stomped outside.
