Third Person's POV
The next few days were hectic to say the least. There was a lot of ignoring and a lot of awkwardness.
Neither of them would bring it up. It was harsh, they had to admit. It hurt to hear someone you loved say those things about you.
Even though the love wasn't alive between them, they cared deeply.
Just not enough to keep up.

Jeongguk was the one to bring it up.
He sat beside Taehyung after serving dinner, no words exchanged.
It was uncomfortable almost. Trying to eat in plain silence when you have so much to say.
"How is work?" Jeongguk tried.
"Good." He was shut down.
Jeongguk gulped down the food, pushing his chair back to get up, the only sound in the eerily quiet room being the scraping of the chair against the wooden flooring.
He kept the dishes away, feeling the hair at the back of his neck stand due to how uncomfortable he felt.
Jeongguk bit his lip, turning around.
"Tae, about our fight-"
"Let's end it."
It was silent.
Taehyung's cold, sharp eyes staring right back into Jeongguk's, where any sign of fixing, crumbled.
Jeongguk took a deep breath, nodding.
He padded towards Taehyung, leaning down and pulling him in an embrace.
"It was a good eight years. You made it enjoyable," He whispered, swallowing down the sob.
"Always thought we'd make a decade," He chuckled, voice bittersweet.
"Thank you for choosing me to spend these years with, Taehyung. You're a great man," Jeongguk wiped a stray tear, hurrying into their bedroom.
Taehyung sat there, numb.
He knew Jeongguk was as tired as he was. He couldn't give this another chance.
Because he knew if this chance didn't work out, he'd be broken.
Giving false hope was never what Taehyung wanted to do. He did it the last year and it exhausted them to the core.
He couldn't do that to himself or Jeongguk.
'This is for the best,' He said as he pushed himself up to put back all the broken pieces.
