Chapter Two

ZEMIRA

She walked down the hall and reached the gardens. Everybody was there. Her parents, her brother and her aunt. There was a air of sorrow. Of mourning. As her father stood, weeping silently besides her mother her long red hair undone stood there face to face with the harsh reality of life, she stared blankly into her grandmother's coffin realising that she had lost the human shield that had protected her all her life.

I must not cry. Not here.

Her father stepped forward and read her will. Her last words.

"I am very well aware of the responsibilities, I leave my successors and am sure that I have made the right decision by appointing my eldest granddaughter as my successor and depart to God's heavenly adobe with full faith and confidence that she will live upto the family name."

She blinked

Her – The Queen?

She could not be the Queen. Auntie Ella is the one who deserves it. She could not and would not accept it.

She heard her say. Maybe she was the heir but could she really take this from her aunt? How could she? Ella raised Malory like her own daughter. Ella always put her first. And Malory would put her first too.
