Chapter 6

"Luna?" the queen asked, sounding frightened. And she had good reason to be. Alone in the Bloodmoon woods, home of the werewolves, at midnight. It was a moonless dark night and every animal slept soundly. Except them. Alert as always.

"Victoria." Said a voice from far above.

"Where are you?"

A female jumped from above, landing on all fours. Her dark skin and black hair making her almost invisible but her yellow eyes giving her away.
"Here" She snickered.

"Were you sitting on some sort of tree? How did you do that?" Victoria was confused but more than that, scared and amazed.

"It's the ways of the wolf, Victoria, the ways of the wolf. Now, lets talk about why I called you here-"

"I called you here, Luna, I am the queen."

"No one calls the alpha. The alpha calls and the others obey," she rolled her eyes and looked at her bloody nails "...Well either that or they die. I summoned you and you came and you will do what I tell you to."

"I'm helping you Luna, not the other way around."

"You are not 'helping' me. You are doing what I, the alpha tell you to do. Or I unleash my wolves on your people."

"Go ahead, unleash them on Zemira."

Luna laughed. And so did many others still hidden in the shadows.

"They aren't your people, the ylenols are."

"No, I'm a zemirian." Victoria stammered.

"You are the princess of the ylenols, Victoria, their king's sister. Here on a spy mission against Zemira. Waiting for the attack."

"How did you-?"

"I know everything Victoria. Things you could never even dream of. So before I spill your beans, convince Ella to join my pack."

"She would never."

"And it's your job to make her."

"Why do you even want Ella?"

"Lady Beatrix, tell her."

An old woman stepped up. With long gray hair and crooked fingers, she smiled wisely and spoke in a soft but strong voice. "Ella is, as you know, a werewolf. But she isn't just any wolf. She was one of the only two girls bitten by our previous alpha, the other girl being Luna. By biting them, the previous alpha made them her heirs. Only one of them is our true alpha"

"But isn't Luna your true alpha?" Victoria interrupted.

"Patience, my child," Beatrix continued, "As I was saying, one of them is our true alpha, but since Ella never even joined our pack, we don't know who the true alpha is. In order to settle that, Ella and Luna must face off right here in these very woods, under the full moon for us to have our alpha. And for that, we need Ella."

"So cant you just force her?"

"No, she needs to join of her own will."

"And if I get her to join, what do I get?"

"Lets see," Luna said, "If you get her to join, you get nothing and if you don't get her to join, we kill you and destroy Ylenol. Dismissed."

Victoria shrugged.

"Alex will make sure you get to the palace safely, child." Beatrix smiled, sensing Victoria's fear.

"Yes lady Beatrix," Alex stepped up, "Follow me, queen."
