I flopped onto my bed after changing out of my school uniform. I had just finished school and I was exhausted after hero training. Being All Might's successor was a difficult task, but one worth doing. I opened my phone to look at Hado's contact. Should I text her?
She would give me her number for a reason, right? I don't want to bother her though. Maybe I'll text her later when it's more likely she's free. My hand drooped off the side of my bed. I wanted to get a snack and relax in bed with my phone and watch videos online, however, I didn't want to move.
Ping!
I moved my phone close to my face to read the text I had been sent. A small rush of adrenaline shot through my body as the sound initiated excitement within.
Hado: Hey Midoriya :) Wanna chat for a bit?
I reread the message over and over. Who knew the same few words could be so interesting.
Izuku: Sure, I have nothing else going on and I wouldn't mind talking to a friend
I responded. She sent me another message shortly after asking me a few different questions. We went back and forth messaging each other for hours on end.
________
I felt my eyes droop slightly as I yawned loudly.
Hado: Hahaha, I can't believe your friend is so strict
Me: Yea, Iida follows the rules a little too much haha
I watched as the three dots appeared and waited for a response, like the other... 236 other messages she has sent. I was quite surprised how many texts we had sent each other and looked to the top corner of my phone to check the time.
10:30pm. Late, but I could stay up longer. My body heavily disagreed with me but I pushed away my tired state.
Hado: Midoriya, I don't want to disturb you or anything but, do you want to eat lunch with me?
I stared at the question, a small gap in between my lips, exposing my mouth slightly. I was a little shocked but happy to hang out with her.
Me: Don't worry about bothering me, I can join you for lunch if that's what you want :)
I felt like the smiley face was overdoing it but sent it regardless.
Hado: Awesome! It's getting kind of late and I'm sure I've kept you long enough, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow Midoriya ;)
I giggled at the little winky face she finished with. I could see a good future with Hado, a strong friendship that could last a long time.
Me: Sleep well Hado
Hado: You too
I closed the messages app and turned off my phone. setting it on the painted wooden desk beside my bed. I had never been on my phone for so long before. I was drowsy and my body felt like it couldn't move a muscle. I turned off the small lamp on my desk before pulling the covers over me. I shut my eyes and attempted to fall asleep for who knows how long.
_________
I woke up to my alarm without feeling careless and tiresome. I changed into my gym clothes and exited my room, then left the dorms quietly. It was early in the morning, 4:30am to be exact. I had little energy after yesterday but I was pushing myself everyday. I had come so far since my first meeting with All Might. After a while, he trusted me with my own workout. I used this to my advantage and started working more and harder.
I've improved so much and I can't help but thank All Might for giving me the chance to be a hero. I walked over to the first year gym and opened the door rather excitedly.
________
A few hours of hard work later and I finished my intense workout. My body felt like I was swimming in a pool of lava but it would all be worth it, I will become the top hero one day.
An ambitious smile formed onto my face. I took a big swig from my water bottle and began the journey back to my dorm. The pathway I walked on was a sandy texture, mixed in with pebbles and other little rocks. The sky was grey, not a ray of sunlight in sight. I looked to my right, a bench appearing in front of me. I stopped to stare for a few seconds.
I could feel a small smile creep up onto my face as I remembered the rainy night. It was a memory that I would likely never forget. I moved on and ran the rest of the way back to my dorm.
Once I finally made it back I realized how sweaty I actually was and took a shower immediately. I brushed my teeth afterwards and put on my school uniform to finish off. I went back down to the common area to meet my friends and walk to school together.
"Hey Uraraka, Iida!" I greeted excitedly.
Uraraka shot me her unique bubbly smile while Iida simply pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose and waved.
"Good morning Midoriya. Now that you're here, shall we go to school?" Iida responded.
"Yep" I beamed with a big smile.
When I smiled like this, it made me feel like I was four again. I unconsciously rubbed the back of my head while having that thought. I swiped my hand away, knowing that my friends would question me if they saw me doing it.
"What do you think we're doing in Mr. Aizawa's class today?" Uraraka asked.
"Whatever it is, we should pay full attention in class to get the best possible marks." Iida replied sternly.
I started to mutter to myself about what could be on today's agender.
"Deku, you're muttering again." Uraraka informed me.
"O-Oh, sorry about that" I spoke with a nervous but kind smile.
We arrived at the classroom door and we separated to sit in our seats. Uraraka started talking to Tsuyu while Iida just waited for class to start. For a second I swore I could see Uraraka blushing and acting flustered but I ignored it.
All I wanted was to take notes and see Hado again. I'm intrigued for our next meeting.
