Chapter 1: Expect The Unexpected

Manila Bay Walk, Manila City, Philippines

PO1 Jose Del Santos enjoys the beautiful scenery of the Manila Bay Walk as he patrols the area, he belong to the PNP's (Philippine National Police) highway patrol group, he and his mates had a stop to a nearby street restaurant to eat Pares(a type of soup), he sips the hot and delicious soup along with some spices and beef.

"Haaaahhh". A bliss. PO1 Jose feels like he is in California, at first glance you might mistaken the place as somewhere in California, however it is not. This is the Manila Bay Walk, the beach that has a lot of garbage and different type of trash, the water is contaminated that fishes nearby the beach dies from it. But that was almost thirteen years ago, thanks to the 16th president of the country who started to rehabilitate the Manila Bay. The Filipinos was doubtful regarding the rehabilitation of the Manila Bay, however the tree bore a fruit, it started from a small dolomite beach project, and until the government continued the project and the result was amazing, it was considered as impossible for everyone, no matter how you look at it, Manila Bay is just good as done, however the tireless efforts of the government, volunteers and the cooperation of the Manileños for not throwing shit in the Manila Bay finally resulted to a beautiful Manila Bay, corral reefs started to form, fishes returned as well, there are even dolphins and butandings (sperm whale) seen by the fishermen and the crowd near the bay, pictures and videos of said event became popular in the internet resulting to massive amount of people to visit Manila Bay.

After finishing his meal, PO1 Jose sat on the beach's wall, it's dusk now, the wind is getting called and the street lights started to lit.

"It's unbelievable that this place was full of plastic waste and different garbages, right Jose?"

"Yeah, I still remembered when my mama brought me here ten years ago, this place still has a lot of trash back then, but now it's like a paradise."

"Indeed. With this, I might not get tired patrolling this highway all over again at all, the Pasig River also got rehabilitated and now there's a lot of people going there to go fishing and picnic."

"Yeah I saw it on the TV, last christmas Marikina River was flooded by lots of people all over the city as well."

His mate chuckled. "Yeah, I was assigned there, it was tiring to guide people, especially lost children back to their parents."

"But you know, the country really changed a lot, I really thought that something like this would happen."

His mate smiled. "The same goes for me too. But when the great two, or rather three presidents sat on the chair who fighted the corrupt politicians, oligarchs and the bias medias, we finally rose prominence, and we're the richest country in the south east asian region now, even though we still can't compare ourselves to powerhouse like China, Japan and Korea, at least we finally put an end to poverty and Filipinos acquired peace, education and equality."

PO1 Jose then glanced over a certain family enjoying their walk on the beach side, he wish that her mother is still alive to see the Philippines now.

President Christian Alberto Estella Dela Cruz or simply Christian Dela Cruz reads the content of the report from the DSWD, apparently there are many PWDs who demands jobs despite their physical conditions, he already made some plans regarding the matter, he will soon pass a new law to the senate. He then felt hungry, he called his guard and ordered him.

"Alberto, tell the chef that I want Sinigang and Lumpia for dinner, also I want so buko (coconut) juice."

"Understood Mr. President." The guard left to perform his duties.

He stretched his body and prepare to go in the dining room.

President Christian started to eat his dinner, the served meal are one of his favorite dishes, her mother and father used to cook for him, unfortunately both for them died due to the terrorist attack when they are volunteering for relief operations in the province of Leyte during a strong typhoon.

President Christian was elected as the 19th president of the Republic of the Philippines just recently, out of 60 million registered voters, 40 million voted for him, he run as an independent.

After the changes of the constitution of presidency, he will now lead the country for a ten year long term, this allows him to make a ten year plan for the further development of the country.

After finishing his meals, he drinks the cup of buko juice and returned to his quarters to rest. On bed he had some thoughts, one of his plans is to further improve the Armed Forces, recently, tensions in the middles east, Europe and the east Asia became much larger recently, there are even some conflicts happened reported to him by his trusted news source.

The Philippines already had a capable Armed Forces back when the 18th president's regime, however, facing counties that use nuclear weapons are on the next level. AFP have possession of 112 ICBMs, of course it was kept secret to the public and the international community, since the other developing countries started to produce nuclear weapons despite being warned by U.N, the Philippines must protect itself from any possible threats.

The AFP have 310,000 active personnel and 500,000 reserves making it one of the largest amount of soldiers in the south east asia, with 2,100 aircrafts, 300 ships, 20 submarines and 14,000 different kind of military vehicles.

The country has already four aircraft carriers, it has the most aircraft carriers in the south east asia right now, missile systems are also installed in many islands of the Philippines for defense purposes, the country is also now capable of manufacturing military weapons, equipments etc... The BRP Manuel Quezon is the Navy's newest aircraft carrier asset and was made here in the Philippines at the shipyard of Bohol Heavy Industries.

The President then was about to fell asleep when a knock from the doors woke him up. "Enter." He said.

"Sorry to disturb you Mr. President, I have an important news from PAGASA." A report then was handed to him.

"Apparently, a large storm, much larger than typhoon Yolanda suddenly popped in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific, it is expected to enter the PAR(Philippine Area of Responsibility) by the next two hours."

President Christian's eyes widened as he saw the picture of the said typhoon, it's at least three times much larger than typhoon Yolanda which wreck havoc in the Philippines on November 2013.

"Relay my orders, I declare a state of emergency, immediately evacuate the populace near the sea shores, rivers, lakes, flood prone and landslide prone areas, tell the PNP, AFP, DH, BFP and the NDRRMC to be on high alert, and tell the local medias that I will have a announcement to the Filipinos."

"Understood Mr.President."

PO1 Jose took shelter in a nearby rain shelter, he was wet due to the sudden heavy rain, the people runs towards the nearby establishment to shelter themselves.

"I hope this finishes soon."

Unbeknownst to him, this is the start of the calamity, an unexplainable event will soon occur.
