The Aftermath
AURORA'S BREATH HITCHED AS ZOMBIES PASSED HER BY. She was underneath a truck with Glenn, and Shane, the girl feeling helpless in that very moment. She had always been the type to take action, especially since this dreaded apocalypse started and now? There was nothing she could do.
"Be ready." Shane mouthed to the two younger people beside them as he carefully tried to reach for his gun.
Rory nodded, followed by a nod from Glenn as the two of them exchanged a worried glance. They didn't know if they would make it out of there alive, they didn't know if their family or friends would be okay after this. That's where the fear came from, not from the mindless monsters that walked passed them.
After a few more moments, the footsteps walking passed ceased, finally letting the trio exhale. Shane took it as his opportunity to take the gun not far from them, all three of them carefully sliding out from underneath the cars. They all paused upon hearing a faint gargle near them, turning to see a lone Z heading straight for Glenn.
"Gotcha." Aurora mumbled as she quickly grabbed one of her arrows, lodging it into the head of the half dead creature, rendering it useless. Then, of course, she took it right out.
"Thanks." The Rhee man spoke as him and Shane started to wall down the road, wanting to check on the others. He kept his eyes on the girl as she nodded her head, Rory wearing a faint smile in return.
"Lori, there's two walkers after my baby!" A woman yelled, running towards the railing where Rick had just jumped off at. The entire group of people gathered around as she sobbed, nobody knowing what to do or how to help.
A nervous Aurora looked around for her niece, practically thanking god when she seen her standing next to a boy she hadn't met yet.
"What do we do?" Sal questioned, looking around at the group of people he was still extremely unfamiliar with.
"I don't know."
LUCA RAN A STRESSED HAND OVER HIS FACE AS he tried to explain the good that it would do his family if they all stayed with Ricks's group. They had resources, food, people, all of which none of them had, especially not after the van had broken down. His family however, was a little more stubborn than that.
"Plus, it'll be good for Avery to be around other kids. Carl is a good boy, and once we find Sophia, she'll have two people she can relate to in all that." The boy reasoned, letting out a sigh. "I know you are all disappointed I couldn't find Joe but, I found something. I found a way for us to be safer than what we were."
"Real safe they've been, look what happened to the little girl. Is that what we have to look forward to if we stay? Count me out." Felix protested, putting an arm around his wife. "Right, Ser?"
