"Naruto, good job with the cookie sales today! Your skills never fail to amaze me, the natural talent you have for baking is so impressing"
Naruto smiled bashfully at his coworker, Haruno Sakura.
"It's not that big of a deal, but I am glad to know that other's love my cookies. Seeing the look of satisfaction on their face just fuels my determination to make even better cookies!" Naruto said, patting his arm with his hand as he looked at Sakura with stars in his eyes.
Sakura laughed out of amusement, reaching her hand out to pat Naruto's head.
"So grown up now, I'm so proud of you"
"You're just being silly now, you're only a year older than me" Naruto chuckled softly.
The soft sound of the door bell filled in the bakery, catching the two behind the counter.
"You got them?"
"Yeah"
Naruto then gave his full attention to the customer and smiled widely, "Hello and welcome to the bakery! There isn't a lot of fresh options as the store is about to close so I'm sorry about that"
"No worries, I'm just here for a quick snack before I head home. What's available?" the customer asked while making their way over. Naruto guided their attention to the display and pointed out everything they had in stock.
The customer took a couple of seconds to think before making their option, pointing at the last sugar cookie that was on the plate. Naruto quickly got his gloves on and grabbed onto a pair of tong.
He grabbed the cookie with it and soon placed it inside a bag. He walked over to where the cash register was and told the customer the total.
The customer handed him the cash, making sure to tip before waving a hand goodbye.
And just like that, a sale has been made.
"Thank you! Please come again"
Naruto watched as the customer walked away from the store and stretched his arms high in the air.
Finally, it was time to go home.
"Hurry and get your jacket and whatever else you brought! I'll close the blinds and wait for you by the door"
Naruto nodded at Sakura before zooming into the back room and straight into the break room. He untied the knot of the apron around his back, soon taking it off from his neck and hanging it near the washer.
He grabbed onto his jacket and bag nearby and walked out, making sure to lock the door before turning off all of the lights. He then made his way to where Sakura was waiting and bumped his shoulder with hers gently.
The two walked out of the store, the cold crisp air hitting their skin as a shiver ran down their spines. Sakura was trying to find the right key to lock the door while Naruto sniffled loudly.
"I always forget how cold it gets here" Naruto managed to say as his jaw began to shiver. He quickly wore the jacket and hugged himself.
"It is quite late now so it will only get colder if we don't leave soon" Sakura said as she finally turned the lock, looking over at Naruto.
"Right, well I'll see you tomorrow!" Naruto made a peace sign at her. Sakura copied him and placed her hand beside her right eye.
"Yep! Get home safe"
Naruto flashed one more smile at her before turning around and walked down the sidewalk of London. He took a glance towards his right, the Big Ben having its hands positioned at 11 pm.
