Chapter 2

*Flashback*
I got up on my Pegasus in my full battle armour and flew through the portal King Odin had opened for us. I knew how powerful Hela was, but when I flew through the portal alongside my sister Astrid, the sight in front of me made me freeze. Hela threw her dagger's through the air and the smell of freshly killed Valkyrie's hung in the air. Odin very recently had chosen to become a peaceful king, however Hela had not taken a liking to that. I flew fast between the falling Valkyrie's and Pegasus'es, watching them fall to their death. I were to scared to look at their faces, scared to see some of them being my friends. May they have a safe travel to Valhalla.

*End of flashback*

You woke up in your dark-blue bed sheets, you breathed shakily. You slowly sat up in bed and rested your head in your hands. You had gotten the nightmares more often lately, which obviously did not help. You would have done anything to be able to see or speak to your sister, one last time. You felt tears prickling in your eyes. No, you are not going to cry, you thought. It's only a nightmare, a stupid thing to cry over.

Your thought was interrupted when you heard a knock on your bedroom door. "Enter" you said as you stood up from your bed. Sif entered the room "You should get changed into your armour we are leaving to Jotunheim in not too long" she spoke as she opened your closet and took out your armour. "Where will we be meeting the others?" You asked as you let Sif hand over your armour. "We're meeting them at the exit of the castle, Thor have the horses saddled up for our ride to the Bifrost" Sif answered. You just nodded and went into your bathroom and changed.

Shit. You just remembered how you lashed out on Thor last night. You were really scared about the truth, so you replaced it with anger and coldness whenever someone asked. You knew it would be to risky to tell anyone, especially Thor. He trusted his father way to much and didn't even know half of the bad things he had done in the past as it turned out Odin has chosen that side of him to remain hidden.

You brushed off the thought and braided your hair, changed into your armour and went out of the bathroom. "Let's go" you said. You and Sif grabbed some breakfast along the way and went to the palace gates where The Warriors three, Loki and Thor stood waiting for us. Sif went to talk to the others.

"Was about time you came Lady Ems" Loki said giving you an annoyed look. "I have my reasons to be late" you answered him. "And what kind of reasons is that?" He asked. "None of your business" you replied with a flat tone. "Touché" Loki answered, but his eyes were concerned.

You noticed that Thor had watched the conversation between you and Loki. You walked away from Loki with your horse and over to Thor. You met his blue gaze "Thor, about last night.. I'm truly sorry" you told him with a genuine tone. "Its alright lady Ems. I just don't understand why you won't talk to me about it I thought we could trust each other" Thor replied coldly. Ouch. That stung. He never called me lady. He gave you the fakest smile ever and climbed up on his horse.

Everyone climbed up in there saddles and started the ride to the bifrost. You rode right behind Thor. It would be hard to get past Heimdall, but you had discussed it with the others and Thor said that he would reason with him. You had a really bad feeling about going to Jotunheim maybe it was because it was forbidden or maybe it was because you almost got slayed by their king last time you were there. Laufey was a powerful leader, even without the casket.

After passing the gates out of Asgard you enjoyed the beautiful view in front of you looking into eternity. You have rode on this bridge a thousands of times, but the best times was when you rode alongside your friends.

The feeling of belonging had disappeared the day the Valkyrie's fell and you locked yourself away only going out when necessary. Then after sometime you decided to socialise again, go to the battlefield again, because deep down you knew you missed it. That's how you met Thor. He had seen you sparring with one of the greatest guards of Asgard and you had won over him easily. The training was a lot harder back in the days. He had invited you to join a battle with him, Loki and his friends. You weren't very fond of him because of what his father had done back in the days, but you decided to give it a try, because you knew that you couldn't blame him for what his father did and you were afraid that Odin would kill you if he found out you were a Valkyrie. And after that battle you became friends. That's when you got the feeling of belonging back again.

When you came in front of the Bifrost you glided off your horse, following closely behind Thor.

"You aren't dressed warmly enough" Heimdalls voice spoke. "Except Ems" he said after a pause. You had put your thickest coat on and put on your winter armour. Thor opened his mouth to say something but Heimdall stopped him by saying "Do you think you can deceive me?" Loki started to say something but Thor shut him up "ENOUGH." Thor asked politely if we could pass and after some discussion Heimdall let us through.

you started to walk forward again when you heard Volstagg say "Silver tongue turned to lead?" looking at Loki, of course everyone started laughing except you, you stayed behind to walk with Loki. "Why do you never stand up for yourself" you asked. "I feel like I deserve it and I don't care what others think, like you do" he said aggressively. You weren't surprised at his aggressive reaction at all. "Well sometimes you may deserve it, but this time you didn't" you said quickly and hurried off to the others.

You stood beside Thor, as you always did "Thor are you sure about this? I don't want this to backlash at you" you told him. "I am very sure about this Lady Ems, father will thank me just wait and see" Thor answered you in a fake tone. You sighed as he walked off to stand beside Hogun instead. He was so damn childish sometimes, you thought, but you understood why he was upset because you always shared everything with him, (or so he thought). Heimdall and Thor discussed a little bit more and then you heard the Bifrost opening. And suddenly you felt all dizzy and weird. You fell behind to feel two strong gentle arms catch you before you got a chance to hit the ground.

*Dream*
You were in some sort of palace dressed in dark shades of blue and black. You walked carefully accros the room to a crystal mirror made of Moldavite, looking into mirror to see yourself in a dark blue, goddess like dress. You looked at you hands to find dark blue, aura like energy surrounding them. Suddenly you felt yourself being dragged back into reality.
*End of dream*

As you snapped back to reality still feeling dizzy, you felt yourself in someone's arms, and then you felt yourself being dragged into the Bifrost. You looked up to see Thor's concerned face, the rainbow colours surrounding the two of you. He looked into your eyes and then held you close to his chest, you felt him doing a sigh of relief.

His feet hit steady ground and you felt the cold air brush against your neck. You tried to get out of his arms because you were feeling normal again, but he just held you tight and took your head turning it to him while caressing your cheek. "What happened Ems?" He said in a concerned tone his ice blue eyes gazing into yours. You searched for words, but all you said was "Im fine. I assure you, I just haven't gotten proper sleep in sometime" you replied him, pushing whatever romantic feelings you had for him deep down. "Alright, if you say so" he said not wanting to push your limits. You chose not to dwell on the weird dream, but still it felt so real?

*Loki, Lady Sif and the warriors three pov*
"Why don't they just marry each other already" Fandral spoke in his usual flirty tone. "They are blinder than my fathers blind eye!" Volstagg exclaimed. "Well in my opinion they will get together eventually, they just don't see how lovesick they are of each other, yet" Loki said calmly. Sif just sighed and smiled at the pair shaking her head. "I will force them together if not" she said.
