Y/n's POV
I woke up with a smile on my face, I had dreamt about my favorite book again and it was amazing.
The book I dreamt about was 'The Outsiders' from Susan E. Hinton.
I read it when I was 13 and it was amazing. Now, that I am 16, I still love everything about the book. Even though I always cried with Johnny's and Dally's deaths.
My train of thought was stopped by my mother calling me downstairs. I finished putting on my clothing and went downstairs.
'You are dressed as a greaser, again, Y/n?' my mother asked rather amused.
I nodded.
I wore my favorite Mickey Mouse shirt (just as Two-bit would) and some denim trousers and a jacket. I had my (your hair color) hair down. It was (your hair length).
'Don't forget that today Susan E. Hinton will be signing books at the local library, take yours' my mother said, kissing me in my forehead.
I ate my breakfast talking with my mom. I had a good relationship with her and my father.
Once I was in school I passed all my classes daydreaming, this day I was more absent than usual. My mind could only think about the outsiders.
I had a great connection with that book. It felt like home, but that day was over the limits.
Thankfully I wasn't popular, but I wasn't bullied either. I had some friends here and there but I didn't feel like talking to them that day.
After school I ran to my town's library. I was excited to meet Susan E. Hinton and get my book signed.
There were a lot of girls there, most of them 13 year olds. I expected that. We were forced to read the outsiders in seventh grade, it was obvious that the girls who liked it were young girls. I was a little bit older, and there just a few people that were my age or older.
When it was my turn I smiled nervously at her and after fangirling and saying that I loved her book and everything I said my name and she signed it with a little 'For Y/n' on top.
I went out of the library, the night had already fallen over (Your city/ town). I shivered as a wave of cold wind hit my back.
I started walking towards my house when an old lady went near me. 'Excuse me sweetie, could you help me with my groceries? My old bones aren't working today' she said, a sweet smile on her face.
Her hair was medium length, even though it was as white as snow you could still see some reddish colors on it. She wore expensive clothing.
I nodded and helped her with the groceries, taking them in my arms as I walked along with her, probably to her house. My town had never had problems with kidnappers or anything, it was a safe place so I didn't have a bad feeling about it.
The woman started talking 'Where were you coming from sweetie?' she asked, concerned 'it is really dark outside and a young woman like you shouldn't be out this late. When I was your age really bad things happened.' she sighed.
'Well, I was coming back from the old library. Susan E. Hinton was signing her book The outsiders there' I said, seeing her flinch at the name The outsiders.
'You like that book?' she asked, her face blank and without any emotion.
'Yeah' I said, then my mind went off 'I love it, well not the deaths part, but the characters their passions, their lives and everything is.... I don't know, so magnetic. I feel almost magically attached to that book. As if it called me. Almost like I had lived that'.
I then turned back to reality, knowing that I had been talking too much.
'Oh, excuse me Ma'am I didn't mean to blab about the book'. The old lady looked at me with tears in the sides of her eyes. 'Did I say something wrong?' I asked, worried.
She shook her head no before taking the groceries out of my arms and entering a block. She wiped her head out. 'I knew you were the one, please, save them and say hi to me later' she said, before entering completely the building.
I stood there, utterly confused. Save them? Say hi to her? What?
Soon enough I started feeling dizzy.
I walked towards my house once again, trying to get there faster. I had to walk pass an alley before seeing my street.
My vision was a little blurred out when I entered the alley, I didn't remember it to be so dark and with such a dim light.
Once I was at the other side I felt weird, the lights were less than I remembered. Until I noticed, that it wasn't my street.
I looked around, seeing a place I completely didn't know. Where was I exactly?
I walked to the other way of the alley, only to see it had a wall. That wasn't there earlier.
My head was spinning like crazy.
I got out of the alley again. The place was completely unknown to me.
Before I could react more, two boys, dressed in expensive clothing looked at me and started walking my way.
Their clothing looked like it was from the 60's. It was 2021. Why were they dressed like that?
The tallest one pushed me against the wall while the other pulled out a switchblade. I started breathing heavily.
'Look what we got here, such a newbie greaser' the one with the switchblade said. The other one responded 'yeah, I haven't seen her before. Such a pity' he faked the sadness only to make the switchblade dude to chuckle.
I felt out of air as if I could pass out any moment.
Before he could even put the blade to my chin, three voices sounded behind them.
'Hey! Leave her alone you damm socs' One of them said. The 'socs' who had me trapped let go of me before running off.
A movie-star kinda looking guy approached me first.
