Loid and Anya walked into the boutique. Anya was dragged away by the seamstress to take her measurements. While that was happening, Loid was looking around for a suitable person to play the role of his "Wife". 

It was then when he noticed that someone passed by him. Hm? it's rare for him to be caught off guard like that. How strange. He took a quick glance at her, Ah yes,She was on the list Frankie gave him. Yor Briar, 27, no history of marriage nor past relationships. Both of her parents passed when she was young, leaving her to raise her brother alone. Both siblings work as civil servants. She's perfect, Except for the fact that she's always wearing that mask. Every photo of her he got from Frankie had her wearing a mask or blurred. Interesting. " Excuse me, are you staring at me?" She looked at him. Wow, was he staring for that long?

"I was enamored by your beauty" He gave her an excuse and the fake smile he gave to everyone.

She seemed surprised, "Really? You think I'm beautiful? Thank you."  But he could tell she stopped smiling and frowned.She took the mask off, revealing her mouth that reached the corners of her ear, Literally. She has a slit mouth.

"What about now? Do you think I'm still beautiful?" She asked. She had a slight frown on. She looked nervous? Scared? Afraid?

His eyes widened a bit, but returned back to normal. It was surprising, yes. But nothing out of the ordinary. The word "scary" Has no meaning to him anymore, not after everything he's seen before. He's not scared. Just surprised.

"Of course. You're gorgeous." He smiled. Her eyes widened, frown deepening, Eyebrows raised. She was surprised. Her face turned a deep shade of red. She mumbled something along the lines of  "You really think so?"

He nodded, It wasn't a total lie, She IS beautiful.

"My name is Loid Forger"

"Papa! Anya is done with the measurements! " The little girl walked towards the two, slightly bouncing in her steps.

The girl stops to look at the both of them before she looks all sad and starts to (fake) cry because of the lack of a mother figure.

"What's wrong?" He asks the girl.

"I miss mama, I feel so lonely without mama. " She (fake) cries.

"Hm? Did anything happen to your wife?" She asked him.

" She passed two years ago, leaving me to raise our daughter, Anya, alone." He lied as naturally as he breathed.

"Um, actually, I have a proposal."

That was not the way he expected to get a fake wife for this mission, but it worked, so there was nothing to complain about.

 It was a fairly calm day in the Forger household. Well, that was until Yor came home panting." Yuri, my brother is going to visit! Tonight!"

"Tonight!?" 

Yor explained how she forgot to tell her brother, and that he wanted to congratulate her immediately. Luckily, They had prepared for situations like this, it was finally time to get out their "Loving couple set".

Yuri came late at night, just when Anya was asleep.

And today, Loid learnt two things about the Briar family.One, That the slit mouth was genetic. Yuri had a slit mouth too and had to wear a mask everywhere. And Two, That they can not hold their liquor. In what seemed like 1 glass, Yor was already drunk. And so was Yuri.

"Loiloi, what do you think about My sister? And our ...curse? " He seemed melancholic at that last word.

"Yor is amazing. She's a perfect mother to Anya, and a perfect wife, she's all I could ever ask for. I would take a nuke for her. And I don't think that smile of hers is a curse. Her smile is sweet, it really brightens my day. " He was exaggerating of course, but some parts of the statement was true.

Yuri seemed surprised. That was until he saw that they jumped away from accidentally touching hands.

"Huh? Haven't you two been living together for over a year? All that just by touching hands Are you two really married?" Yuri raised an eyebrow.

"Of course we are!" They tried convincing him through their (fake) pictures.

"Then prove it to me. Kiss each other right now. Or I'm getting this marriage annulled at city hall. " Yuri threatened.

"I'll do it, that is if you're alright with it Yor. " Loid gave a small smile.

She chugged half a bottle of wine, there is absolutely no way she's doing this sober.

"Yor, you don't have to do this of you don't want to. " Loid looked at her, worried. "This is for my sake too, it's fine. " Yor answered.

"What's with the whispering? Can you two do it, or not? " Yor threw a fork right at her brother, nearly hitting him, luckily it hit the wall next to him instead though. It still didn't stop Yuri's jaw from hitting the floor though.

...No, literally, it's on the ground, detached.

"Oh sorry, carry on. It happens sometimes." Yuri picked his jaw up from the floor, placing it back on. Loid was, confused? concerned? Was this normal in the Briar family? By the looks of it, yes. So he didn't question it.

( That's another thing he learnt about the Briar family, their jaws were detachable)

But continuing on,

They got closer,

and closer,

And

Closer.

Yor got too embarrassed, she couldn't do it. And out of habit, she slapped Loid, luckily he ducked, hitting Yuri instead. Yuri was sent flying half way across the room. His jaw flying the other direction, hitting the wall.

Yuri was bleeding profusely but refused to go to the hospital.  And just left.

Well that was a disaster.

To be completely honest, Loid loved Yor's smile.  While everyone else may hate it, or are scared of it, He loves it. He doesn't find it scary at all.  Neither does Anya. Other people find the sharp teeth she has as frightening, Loid finds it quite cute actually.  when she's in public, she would always wear a mask, so he rarely saw her smile outside. But when she's in the comfort of her own home, She never wears the mask and smiles frequently. He realized how she always smiled when she was near the family.

He knew what a genuine smile from her looked like. The way her entire face lights up, Her eyes closed, all her teeth in full view and it looked like her face split apart just from the smile (It actually does, but let's not mention that to her). She actually had many insecurities because of her smile and curse, yet he loved every single second of it.

He loved her.

And he knew that.

He knows that she's just for the mission. But please let him have just this.

His wife (an urban legend), daughter (a mind reader), and dog ( with future vision).

He wouldn't trade them for the world.
