Long Way Home

Chapter 3

HERS.

I put on my jeans and my sleeveless top and wore a blazer on top of it for my office look. Made sure to match it with a pair of heels I bought a few days ago. I also slightly curled my hair. Now I really feel like an assistant manager.

I took one last look at Skye before we went out.

I always stop by the shop before I go to work. Sometimes, I even make my own coffee in there.

"Mom, did Kyler leave already?"

"Yes, he just left a while ago." She replied. "He'll be out for 2 weeks.."

"That's long." I turned to Skye while covering the coffees I made. "Say bye to nana."

He gave his grandmother a kiss and went out the door already.

"We'll leave now, mom!" I said while making my way out.

Just when we got out, we saw Koa, Francis, Calum and Frankie. I'm guessing Koa's showing the shop to Calum.

"Luna!" Frankie hugged me as soon as she saw me.

"Hey, Frankie." I kind of lowered my head to reach her height. "You're ready to go to school?"

She just yawned.

"I like your outfit, girl!" Koa said. "You give off this boss lady vibe!"

"Thanks, Koa!" I smiled. "I can bring Frankie to school. So you can enjoy your coffee here."

"Yay!!!" Frankie said while holding my blazer.

"Are you sure?" Francis asked.

"Yeah!" I replied. "I'm on my way there anyways. So Calum can also enjoy the vibe of Kiowa's best coffee shop." I raised my hand as if I am presenting our coffee shop to them.

"That would be nice!" Calum said.

Koa gave Frankie a kiss in her head. "Uncle will pick you up later, munchkin. Okay?"

"Yes, mommy!" Frankie replied.

"Thank you so much, Luna!" Koa said. "I promise to bring Skye to school next time."

I opened the back door of my car for Frankie and Skye to hop onto. I waved them goodbye and hopped onto the driver's seat.

Skye's school starts at 7:30AM. We leave at 7:00AM and I start work at 8. Being an assistant manager has its own perks. I can now go home at 2:00PM to pick up Skye from school which ends at 3:00PM. Then I'll just continue working at home until I finish everything that is in the queue for the day. Not bad.

I gave Skye his backpack and assisted him in wearing it and gave him a kiss on his head.

"I'll pick you up later, okay?" I told him. "Don't go with anyone else. Wait for me."

He just nodded and gave me a hug.

I watched him and Frankie walk until I can no longer see them before I left for work.

"Ooohhh..." I saw Parker's face when she saw me. "Who is she???"

I just laughed.

"Oh, Parker." I tapped her shoulder. "It's just me!"

"No, you're not!" She's still looking at me from head to toe. "Where's Luna? What did you do to her?"

We kept on laughing while I was opening my computer.

"Girl, I swear." Parker hasn't moved on yet. "You're not Luna. Uh-uh!"

"I think I should just go back to my casual attire, don't you?"
