A Princess to remember

Saleema's return to Surkanda

Saleema after travelling for 2 days , reached Surkanda and Firoza soon got the news of Saleema's arrival.
She rushed out of her chambers with a bright smile on her face and went to meet Saleema's at the fort's entrance and gave a warm hug to Saleema. But Saleema didn't understand how to reciprocate to it and thus , pushed Firoza gently without a single trace of smile on her face. Firoza believed that Saleema would never break her promise and thus she rolled her eyes, which longed to see Maldev . Her eyes unable to find Maldev , turned back towards Saleema and she raised her eyebrows questioning where  Maldev was .

Then Saleema handed over a silver plate covered with a decorative cloth to Firoza and Firoza hoped that it would be some letter which Maldev would have written for her and she was quick to remove the decorative cloth but what she saw in front of her made her collapse on to the ground !!
    She removed the decorative cloth only to find Maldev's head , placed on the silver plate and unable to control her emotions she took the head in her hand , with tears rolling down her cheeks and kissed Maldev's forehead .

Firoza was then quick to bring a garland from her chamber and put it in the neck of Maldev , but for some reason , as soon as she headed forward to put the garland around his neck , his head turned side ways and it seemed as though Maldev was adamant on , not to bring disgrace to his "kula" even after his death.
Seeing this , an already heartbroken Firoza was saddened even more and told Maldev that she loved him from the bottom of the heart and that she didn't wanted to be anyone's wife if she couldn't be his wife and saying thus , she set up fire to the nearby dry wood and was about to jump into the fire but was stopped by Saleema with her full might but Firoza simply gave her a hug and thanked her for being by her side in all her happy and sad moments and said that she would always be indebted to her for all she did to her and saying thus , Firoza pushed her gently and jumped into the fire with Maldev's head in her hands.
  
         After seeing this tragic scene , Saleema found no reason to live and thus jumped into the fire as she never lived away from Firoza. She was the shadow of Firoza and thus she felt that without body there was no need of shadow and thus jumped into fire.

King Mirza Queen Mariyam and Abdullah were traumatized and dumbfound by this incident .

              Soon the news of the tragic incident spread in most of the kingdoms and people started calling her as  the muslim princess who performed Sati .
 
        The news reached Jalore too and Hameed , who heard this , was more than devastated as he was the murderer of the lover of his dear sister and thus left Jalore .
  
      From then onwards , no one ever saw Hameed , no one knew what happened to him , after he left Jalore.
