Adam growled as he thrust hard into the willing woman beneath him. He gripped her hips so hard he knew he was marking her skin, but he didn't care. Harder and harder he thrust into her, his pace merciless. She squeezed together around his erection like a glove. It felt good, but the approach of his usual climax did not happen.
He quickened his pace which made the woman beneath him scream louder and louder. "Yes, Adam, harder, faster," she exclaimed in an unpleasantly shrill voice.
Had he noticed before that her voice was irritating? High and shrill. Her smell wasn't right either. Nothing felt right.
He cursed and pulled out of her. He took hold of her by her hair and pushed her to her knees in front of him. Greedily she opened her mouth to accept his offer. She was always so eager to please him. Normally, he appreciated her enthusiasm.
Trixie was by far the easiest wolf in the pack to bed and he had taken advantage of her many times. She did everything exactly the way he liked it, but now it just didn't feel right. It was as if nothing had been right since he had first smelled Idris' scent.
The thoughts of Idris made his blood boil. His wolf, Zeke howled in his head. He wanted nothing more than to bury himself in her as he was now doing with Trixie. He had hoped that he could get rid of the erection he got from Idris's ravishing smell by using Trixie, but it didn't work.
With a sigh, he pulled out of her mouth. It wasn't fair to Idris, Zeke and Trixie.
"Go away," he growled.
He turned to put his pants back on. He had used his Alpha dominance, so Trixie had no choice but to obey. She growled and whimpered as she gathered her things, but he ignored her pathetic ramblings.
Fucking hell. Why did his soul mate have to walk into his pack just now? He had enough on his mind with the absence of his two deltas and the constant threat of the vampires to have to worry about a soul mate. A human one at that.
He knew she had felt the same attraction to him as he had to her. He had smelled her excitement and he was one hundred per cent certain that he would have had her under him now if his mother hadn't interfered. Humans need more time, she had said.
He cursed back. How was he going to explain to a human all the rights and obligations that go with being Alpha and Luna of a pack? How was she going to accept him, wolf and all?
Zeke whimpered in his head. Zeke wanted nothing more than to run to her room right now to stake their claim on her, to mark her as theirs, but he didn't want to scare her off.
His best friend and Delta, Orion had at least been lucky enough to have his human already know the world. Nashira may have been a witch and knew about more than just wolves, but once she had felt that connection, she had been able to accept it. If Orion himself had not stuck his head in the sand for so long, their mating would have happened sooner.
Wolves were easier. They knew and expected the arrival of a soul mate. He had seen it happen many times when a wolf turned eighteen, he or she immediately found their soul mate and they created their bond on the spot. Wolves were no prudes and public displays of nudity within the pack were very common.
His other Delta, Raoul, had even mated with his wolf and marked it before meeting his human. Adam chuckled and shook his head at the memory. That had been a smooth mating. The wolves' scent had been enough to bind them together without even consulting their human parts.
He had hoped it would be the same with his soul mate. One look, feeling the connection and just going for it. The connection was there, he was absolutely sure of that, but for some reason she had fought it.
What if she already had a partner? He shook his head. There was no ring to be seen, but that was not the norm with humans he knew. His beta, Lucas had told him she was talking about a friend, but there were no strange smells on her or in her car.
He wanted to curse the Moon Goddess, but he knew that her reasons always became clear in the end. Whether he wanted to or not, Idris was his soul mate and would become the new Luna of the pack. Now he just had to explain it to her. Nothing to worry about there!
He lay in bed, his erection even harder as he thought about her. He wanted nothing more than to surrender to his lust, but he knew that nothing would feel right without Idris. Even without knowing it, she already had him by the balls. No one would be able to satisfy him again.
The bad thing was, she didn't know anything about it and she could leave without tearing her clothes. Humans could find love more than once. Humans didn't need the bond that the Moon Goddess forged, but wolves couldn't live without it.
Wolves became stronger thanks to each other, with the help of to that bond. Without Idris, he could never become a stronger Alpha than he was now. He needed that strength to keep his pack safe from all outside threats. Not just his pack, but also his Luna. Even if she decided to reject him, he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.
The only option was to convince her that she belonged here with him. As soon as possible, he had to seal the bond with her and make her his. Idris was his and he was hers, for the Moon Goddess had written it in the stars.
Perhaps the legend of the Blood Moon would help him. With these thoughts in his mind, he fell into a fitful sleep.
