Robin POV

I entered the little film shop with my best friend, Steve.

As I scanned the tiny room, I heard someone flicking around a book, followed by a sigh.

I turned my head to look at the person standing at the counter to see a girl around my age.

A sweatshirt with a green frog was stuffed into her washed out, black jeans as her sleeves were pulled up to her elbow.

I could see colourful rings covering her hands, two bracelets on each of her wrists.

She ran her hands through her hair as she read a thick book, leaning her elbows on the countertop.

Finally, she looked up, locking eyes with me. We kept eye contact for a bit before she looked at Steve.

She stood up straight, cracking her knuckles: "Can I help you guys with something?"

I nodged Steve as I walked towards her:
"Uhm, yes, we worked at starcourt mall, but, as you might've heard-"

"Yeah yeah, I heard what happened", she cut me off, "So you're looking for new jobs, I assume?"
I saw Steve nodding in the corner of my eye.

"Right... Top three movies, let's go", she pointed at me.

"Uhh, The Apartment, Hidden Fortress, Children in Paradise", I smiled at the girl.
She pointed at Steve: "Go on."

Steve looked at her:
"Uhm. Animal House for sure..."

"Hey, eyes on me, Harrington!", she snapped her fingers.

Steve looked at her, sighing:
"Star Wars."
"Which one?", the girl asked.
"The one with the Teddy Bears, duh", Steve made some weird noise.

I looked at her name tag as Steve continued struggling. Y/N.
I looked at Y/N as she raised her eyebrows at Steve: "Excuse me? Whatever, carry on."

"Oh, uh- Oh! The movie that just came out! The- the one where this dude is trying to bang his mom and-"

I watched Y/N shake her head: "Okay, okay got it, stop!"

She pointed at me:
"You start Monday..."

She looked at Steve, sighing:
"You start never. Sorry."

I looked at Steve:
"Can you- just give us a minute?"

I watched him walk away to look at some DVDs before turning back to Y/N:

"See, I know that he seems like a total dingus right now- which he is- but, please give him a chance."

She leaned on her elbows again:
"Why?"

I looked at her:
"He's a hard worker and will do this job if he gets it, and his dad will be like- really mad at him if he doesnt get this job."

Y/N sighed: "See, I'll look what I can do. Can you come back here tomorrow? With him, please?"
I smiled at her: "Of course, yes, thank you!"

She nodded, smirking at me. I looked at her rings as she reopened her book.
One of them was two hands at each end of the ring, hugging her finger.

Another one was made of silver and shaped like a frog.

Yet another one had a big blue eye placed atop of it.

"Do you have a staring problem?", Y/N chuckled, her voice slightly raspy.

I shook my head: "Sorry, I just really like your rings. I'm uh- sorry."

I heard Y/N laugh as she flipped another page: "Sorry, that was a joke."

I looked up at her before Steve called me:
"Can we go?"
I nodded: "Thank you, Y/N, and good bye.."

She shook her head as Steve opened the door: "No problem."

As I was about to exit, following Steve, I heard Y/N's voice: "Hey, uh, wait..."

I turned around.
Y/N sighed: "Is there something going on between you and Steve? Is that why you want him to have the job?"

I shook my head as I saw a pride flav on her bag: "Uh, no, I- I'm not really into guys, if you know what I mean."

Y/N smiled: "Me neither. Have a nice day."

I exited the little shop, smiling as I got into Steve's car: "We have to come back tomorrow."

Steve stared at me: "What? You found yourself a girlfriend in there?"

I smiled: "No, dingus, but I found you a job with my grace."

He nodded, laughing:
"Yes, sure."
