Daniel's POV:
I watch them both how Alexis interacts with her Luna. Derek and Jasper sitting with me. I sigh a bit.
"This will be harder then I imagined" I tell them.
"Why Daniel?" Derek ask.
"She never wanted a mate, she isn't interested in one" I sigh feeling my wolf whimper at that.
"You still have a chance she didn't out right and reject you her wolf isn't letting her otherwise she would have" Jasper says.
"He's right Daniel it's like she had been through a lot give it time she could be scared of getting hurt" Derek says to me.
"I guess your right" i say softly.
"I suggest going and talking to her" Jasper says softly to me.
"Okay" I mumble and get up as Jackson goes and sits next to his mate after coming down. "Alexis would it be alright with you and your alpha and Luna if I talk to you for a bit" I ask formally as I approach them.
I notice how she freezes and she looks at her alpha and Luna who nod. She gets up and follows me to my office I sit at my desk.
"Please take a seat" I tell her motioning to the chair. She simply stands by the door staring at me almost as if observing if it's safe to sit or not. I then watch as she walks over and sits on the edge of the chair tensed up and ready to bolt as soon as she can as well as if she needs to protect her alpha and Luna. "You know I'm your mate yes?" I ask her.
She nods slightly. I watch her as she watches me closely. "Y yeah I know why wouldn't I know?" She asks somewhat defensively.
"Hey hey no need to be defensive I'm just curious on why you've not acknowledged the mate bond?" I explain. I notice how she skeptically looks at me.
"Because I've seen mates fall apart one being left heartbroken and the other moving on also seeing how one is hurt when his or her mate dies I'm not putting my wolf through that I refuse to she's been through to much as it is I'm not having her deal with that and risk loosing her completely" She says firmly.
"But not all mates are like that just look at your alpha and Luna" I say softly.
"Yes and they argue at times I've also told my alpha my wolf may want to stay loyal to him but my loyalties are to Jenny she's my reason I'm alive at the moment" she tells me.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask.
"I've been abused since I was 4 up until 5 years ago with alpha Jackson's dad took over and helped me she would not only take some of the abuse at times but she talked me out of harming myself and others she calmed me down if I knew I couldn't do so myself" she explains softly to me.
"Oh" is all I say.
