Today was like every other day for Artyom, who was only 3 years old and weighed no more than 56 kilos. It was a warm winter, so Artyom did his usual. Slowly emerging from his warm den, shaking lightly to get the dried leaf off his soft black pelt. His home was under an ancient tree, blown partially over, but still living. After a bit of shaking to get bits and pieces of leaf off of him, he looked around the entrance to his den. There was little snow remaining on the ground around him. The ground had a bit of softness to it, but still quite firm.
Arytom headed to a spot he found during greenleaf (summer), hoping that Vadim would not be there. Vadim was a large Grizzly bear weighing over 315 kilo. Padding along the frost infested ground, slowing down to a slow crawl. He looked across the stream, knowing how cold the water would be, he slowly padded into the water, feeling the sharp bite of the cold water. He did not mind the coldness of the water, he enjoyed swimming in greenleaf.
After finding his spot he started looking for some fallen black walnuts, hoping Vadim wasn't looming near. A loud russell alerted him that he was not alone. Before he could look behind him, Vadim was on top of him. Vadim hit him with such force before he could hit the ground everything was dark.
