She had that what-the-fuck-are-you-doing look on her face, but Lay carried on what he was doing. He opened the back portion of her phone to retrieve the loosened battery and pushed it inside again in place, and she just watched him repair the damage he had done.

To be honest, he didn’t really care about people other than his friends, but he was a bit startled when she began cussing out of nowhere. Crazy hair, sneakers that appeared like they’ve been used for a year straight, unorganized things, a bad mouth and a rotten attitude... the strange girl can definitely be counted as one of those people who go anywhere in groups and vandalize every wall they see with spray paint.

Lay pushed the power button about five seconds before her phone lit up completely, signifying the start of it.

“Shit!” She exclaimed and grabbed it back, immediately pressing a few things after it had a chance to load and placing it next to her ear. “Sunyoung!”

He flashed a satisfied smile and the girl returned it with a grin and wide eyes in awe while she talked to whoever was on the other line.

“Yeah, I’m late. The teacher made me go outside.” She said, but didn’t sound like having this punishment was a bad thing to her. Lay moved a little so that his back was leaning against the wall, their bags acting like a barrier for personal space. “I didn’t steal anything, dumbass. There was another teacher two floors down and I would be in the damn office now if I wasn’t fast. I’d be screwed if I’m in there at the first day.”

Lay didn’t talk or interfered. He just listened to her rant and smiled when he found out why she was running earlier.

“Not today, I’m outside for first period.” She stated and if he wasn’t mistaken, the girl was proud of how she ended up outside their new homeroom. “I told you, it’s these stupid classes or my computer. If I could sacrifice you in exchange, believe me, I will.”

He thought she had a sick sense of humor, and it was probably true.

“And that’s if you can be sacrificed at all.” She laughed like a madman and turned her face away for a second. “Only virgins can be sacrificed, Sunyoung. Hell will spit you back out.”

Furrowing his eyebrows, Lay shook his head and fished his phone from his pocket, randomly playing with it to keep himself from hearing the girl’s words. She talked a lot... and cursed just as much.

“It fell when I was running.” She explained and suddenly turned to Lay, flashing a bright smile. “But my classmate fixed it for me.”

He nodded and decided to just listen, looking at her face as she spoke since she was talking about him anyway. His new classmate was so obnoxious and it was as if her witty – or foul – comebacks were endless.

“We’re both outside. He’s next to me.” She laughed, still with that amusement regarding the fact that she had to stay out of the room. “He’s an asshole earlier, but he fixed my phone. So, we’re cool now.”

“Yeah, right.” Lay mumbled, but out of amusement as well. She turned to him completely and wiggled her eyebrows, making him shake his head.

“Sunyoung, I have to go. The teacher might check on us. Phones aren’t allowed.” She muttered. “Yeah, meet you guys later.”

When she hung up, the first thing that Lay did was straighten up on his spot and question things that were bothering him. “Do you always do that?”

“Do what?” She asked back, shoving her phone in her bag.

“Talk aloud on the phone even when you know there are people around.” He shrugged. She just smirked at him and shook her head. “And you lied to your friend openly.”
