Chapter 19

"Akira, just run!" Celina stammered as she tried to free herself from Nero's hold but it was no use as he was too strong.

Akira froze on the spot with fear.

Her mind raced with her options as she knew that if she made one wrong move she would lose everything she held dear to her.

"What do you want, Nero?" She asked quietly.

He looked from Celina to the bag of money and back to his shivering mate and smirked,

"My money!"

"Just give it to him! We don't need it!" Celina begged.

Nero squinted his eyes then threw Celina against the wall and held her by her throat,

"What do you mean WE don't need it?" Nero growled.

He lifted Celina off the floor, leaving Akira to watch her mate start to squeeze the life from her true love.

Celina hit and tried to get free but her legs just dangled off the floor in vain as her escape attempts had no effect on Nero's hold.

"Were you going to run away with her?" He questioned in disbelief.

Akira looked away,

"Yes" she muttered.

Celina began to choke as he tightened his hold on her,

"Please don't! I will stay just let her go!" Akira begged.

Her body started to quiver uncontrollably as she watched the breath leave her friend's body,

"I just want the money! Now drop it there!" He replied and pointed in front of him.

Celina's eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body began to go limp,

"Celina!" Akira screamed and threw the money down.

His eyes widen in glee as he dropped Celina on the floor and ran towards the sack in front of him.

Akira ran over to her pale friend and scooped her lifeless body in her arms.

Tears started to stream down her face as she tried to wake limp friend,

"Please don't leave me!" She begged.

Sounds of coins falling to the floor distracted her attention as she turned around to see Nero revelling in the riches, ignoring what he had just done to Celina.

"You did this!" Akira growled and stood up slowly to face her gloating mate.

Nero shrugged his shoulders and images of the love they once had evaporated from her mind.

She no longer knew or had any love for the new, greedy wolf in front of her and took a deep breath.

Akira wiped the tears from her eyes and flung her head back with steely purpose.

Nero looked up for a moment to see his mate compose herself as he offered a sinister thought,

"Why are you surprised? Everyone leaves you eventually don't they?" He tormented.

His words pierced her mind like a hot poker and all her rage came to the forefront of her mind, wiping away all the happy memories she had with Celina and her past.

The bones started to crack in her back but unlike before she did not drop to her knees in pain, she embraced the feeling and let it envelop her for the first time in her life,

"You have no idea what you have done" she muttered before slowly regarding her husband with her evolving appearance.

Nero jumped up and started to step backwards, no longing gloating at his actions,
