It was just a little after 12 p.m. when lunch had finally started and normally Karl would already be at the lunch table waiting for him, but George hadn't seen him. He furrowed his eyebrows, why wasn't Karl there yet? He thought. He felt his phone vibrate and he took it out of his pocket to see the notification.
Karl
Mr. Philza needed me after class. Be there in a sec. *👍🏻*
George sighed as he gave a thumbs up to the message. He sat down at their normal table. It wasn't like anyone else sat with them. On occasion, Karl's friend, Quackity, would sit with us but he usually sits with Techno and his friends.
George's table was near the walkway but he always sat one seat away from the very end, so nobody would accidentally bump into him. He sat there with nothing to do. None of his teachers assigned homework today, so he pulled out his phone and scrolled on Twitter.
"Oh, look who it is. It's my good old friend George!" He heard a voice from behind him and immediately recognized the voice. He felt Techno's hands fall onto his shoulders as he shook them.
"Techno, would you leave me alone? Christ's sake." George complained. Techno scoffed and sat down, right across from George. He tried to get up and walk to the library, but Techno's friends were right behind him, not letting him leave.
"Georgie. I want to sit with you. Can I sit here?" Techno playfully said.
"No." George bluntly said, looking back down at his phone. His social anxiety was through the roof at that moment. He just wanted to be left alone and wait for Karl but Techno wouldn't leave, instead he made his friends sit down with them. George was definitely intimidated by the group of boys in all directions.
"Where's your little boyfriend at? Isn't his name Karl?" George didn't respond. "Georgie, cmon. Talk to me."
"Dude, would you just leave him alone? He's made it obvious that he doesn't want you here." A new voice spoke. George looked up, and he saw Dream. Dream was friends with Techno. He was a part of that friend group, but he wasn't as rude and disrespectful as the rest of them were. George and Dream never encountered one another but they both knew of each other.
"I-I gotta go. Thanks Dream." George quickly got up and walked away. He shoots a quick text to Karl letting him know he'd be in the library for the remainder of lunch.
"You're such a dick, Techno. Jesus, That's twice today you've picked on him. Cut it out, seriously." Dream defended. Dream hated the way Techno treated people. He always had to pick on someone and it always had to be the people who are most vulnerable.
"Why the hell do you care? What? Are you one of him too?" Techno said. Dream couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth. Dream was in fact bisexual, but no one knew. Not even his best friend, Sapnap.
"You know what, what if I was? Would you drop me? You were a nobody until I became friends with you. I'm even rumored to be just as much of a dick as you are. Fuck you, Techno." With that being said, Dream walked away. Did he just accidentally out himself to his own friend group? Surely no one believed him, everyone knows that he's the varsity's best football player, and how he acts at parties. You know, hooking up with girls left and right.
Dream found his way into the library to see George sitting at a table, by himself. He pulls out one of the chairs and sits down across from George.
"Jesus Karl, about time. What did Philza need?" George said without looking up.
"I uh- I wouldn't know, I'm not Karl." Dream replied, laughing. George looked up, a little embarrassed.
"Oh, sorry. I thought you were Karl. I've been waiting on him since lunch started." The older one replied. He just stared at the boy across from him. It was obvious, sure, but who wouldn't stare? He had fluffy dirty blonde hair, yellowish-green eyes, freckles placed by literal angels, and a perfect smile. He is so gorgeous, George thought. Dream awkwardly laughed and looked away.
