It was the next day.

Dream didn't sleep, he couldn't bring himself to after knowing all the harm that his father brought to George. Dream would go back and replace him instead of George. Dream wanted all the kicks, punches, and torturing at him. Anything to keep George out of harm's way.

The cops had given Dream a call saying that they had George's dad in custody and that he was getting charged with first-degree murder and fleeing a crime scene. On the inside, Dream was jumping off the walls that the father of the boy he loved most, was in custody but he couldn't bring any emotion to his voice.

"Thank you, officer. Make sure that bastard rots in hell." Dream said before hanging up. His parents weren't around much and they didn't know George all that well, but they knew the feeling of losing someone you loved more than life itself, and Dream had lost two.

-

2 days later, Dream and Karl told Sapnap the horrific news and Sapnap immediately wrapped his arms around Karl first. Karl couldn't protect him either. He was supposed to be his safe place.

Dream, Karl, and Sapnap were at George's house the following day looking through his belongings. Dream walked in first and saw that the bathroom light was still on and his phone was still lying on the bed with the charger plugged in. Dream's memory flooded back to that night when they were on the phone laughing.

Dream would do anything to hear George laugh again.

The red and blue lights flashed in the room as they walked around. They heard a faint yell coming from the window and the three of them looked in that direction.

Nothing.

-

1 month. It'd been 1 month since George passed away and it was the day of his funeral.

Dream hosted it and invited everyone that George knew, even Technoblade. His bully that made his life even worse beside his home life.

Only a few people showed up and it hurt to see that a lot of people didn't even bother to send their condolences.

For the people who did show up; Karl, Sapnap, Dream's family, Karl's family, and even a couple kids from George's computer science class shed their tears.

George was buried at Kinoko Cemetery, just 20 minutes away from Dream's house. They all surrounded the casket that was closed and locked, just above the hole that went down six feet.

Karl shared his speech about all the good memories he had with George. He laughed, he cried, and he even slammed his hand on the podium because he was blaming everything on himself, that he told no one that George was suffering at home. Sapnap told him to come over to him as he comforted the boy.

It was time for Dream's speech and he was already crying.

"I just want to say that I thank everyone who showed up today. George was a very closed off person and I guess I can say I don't blame him. Everyday was hell in that house for George and he thought he couldn't reach out or leave. God, if he was still here, I would never let him leave me again.

I've known George ever since middle school, but I didn't speak to him up until a couple months ago. The time I shared with George is unforgettable and hard to come by. If I had known how much of a beautiful soul he was back then, maybe, just maybe things would be different, but they're not.

The thing I regret most is not telling him how much I loved him. God, I love everything about him. His eyes, his smile, the way he would pick at his nails when he was nervous, but what I love most about him is his touch. His cuddles were the most warm and safe place you could ever imagine. George," Dream turned and looked at the casket in front of him "I love you. I'm so sorry this happened to you and I'm sorry I never got to tell you in person, but god dammit I love you, George. You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me." Dream finished and kissed the casket goodbye.

Everyone threw in a blue flower to symbolize George and said their last goodbyes.

As the case was lowered into the ground, Dream sobbed. He fell to his knees as Sapnap caught him.

If Dream hadn't woken up that night when they were on the phone, his dad could be hundreds of miles from here. He would've gotten away with murder. But no. He was locked up and he was going to stay there for a long time.

-

The same day, the headstone that Dream specifically made for George, was put into place. It was perfect and Dream was there after it was settled.
