The Lost Girl

Chapter 8

^Lia's bedroom

Ellie's POV

I am so happy for Lia, although I still want to kill Luke. I have been having strange feelings towards Lia and I don't quite know what they are. Today we found out the gender of her baby and it's a Girl!!! I was so excited for her. We went to the mall after the appointment to shop for baby stuff. Lia's taste is baby stuff makes me want to throw up, but it's her baby. She let me pick out some actual cute stuff though thankfully.

We went back to her fathers house and hung out there. They let her wander around and I can now come over. We tell Luke the news and he is very numb towards it. I'm not surprised about it though. He is kind of a stupid brat and neither Lia nor I like him. We haven't seen Lia's father. He never leaves his office and when he does it's when we aren't around.

Whenever I am around Lia I get butterflies in my stomach and I want to tell her but I don't want to ruin our relationship. She has also been acting weird around me and I don't know if it's the baby stuff or if I did something wrong. Lia and I are in her room watching a movie and we are cuddling together and it gives me a warm and tingly feeling being this close to her and it just feels right.

I finally built up the courage to say something because I can't keep it in anymore. I sit up and Lia looks at me wondering what I am doing, I look at her and pause. What am I doing? What if this ruins our friendship? I have to tell her.

"Lia?" I ask

"Yes?"

"I need to tell you something important."

She tilts her head in curiosity "What is it?"

"I-i- '' I can't say it... So I lean in and kiss her. I can tell she is surprised, but she doesn't pull away, she kisses me back. It feels so right. I pull away to catch my breath. She looks at me with passion in her eyes.

"I-i like you I think" I stutter. I can feel the heat rise to my cheeks.

Lia flushes and she looks down and mumbles something that I can't hear.

"What did you say?" I ask as I gently lift up her chin so she looks at me.

"I- like you too." She says quietly.

I smile and kiss her again. She kisses back and we share a passionate kiss, but we are broken up by the door opening and someone clearing their throat. I look at the door and it is luke....

"Am I interrupting something?" He asks

"Oh, um no you aren't." I am embarrassed.

"Good, well Ellie, father said it was time for you to go."

"Noooo" Lia cries.

"I am sorry it is not my decision to make. "Luke says solemnly.

Lia's POV

Ellie leaves and I am left sitting on my bed thinking of what just happened. Luke leaves the room, so now I am all alone and bored. Was that all real? Did I really kiss Ellie? I lay on my bed and look up at the ceiling. Before I know it I am fast asleep.

(A few hours later)

I wake up to someone opening my door. I look and it's Ellie. She is signalling for me to stay quite and come with her. So I followed her and she took me outside to her car. I get in and ask what we are doing.

"I am getting you out of this mess. You don't deserve to be treated like that." She explains

I sit there not knowing what to say. "W-where are we going to go? We can't go to your place, they will track us down there."

"I bought an apartment 2 states over. They won't be able to find us, I promise."

She kisses me on the cheek then quickly drives out of the driveway. I am shaking, scared that they will find us and kill us. I rub my stomach and whisper "I will keep you safe baby girl." I see Ellie glance at me and smile. I need to think of some baby names. I haven't really thought of any because life has been very hectic. I have always loved the names Lily and Aphrodite. I also want the name to go well with my last name which is Rose. Ellie notices I am in deep thought.

"Whatcha thinking about?" She asks.

"Baby names..."I say and blush embarrassed

"What were you thinking?" She says, eyes still on the road.

"Lily or Aphrodite."

"Those names are adorable."

"You think so?"

"Yeah of course!"

"T-thanks" I stutter.

Why did I stutter? It's the way I feel when I'm around her. She gives me butterflies and makes me nervous.

"Hey, Ellie?"

"Yes?"

"What about our stuff and the baby stuff we bought today?"

"It's in the back." Ellie says while gesturing for me to look in the back of the car.

Sure enough all of the baby stuff and our stuff is back there. What about doctor appointments? I can't go to the doctor because they will need my records from the last hospital and if that happens Luke will be able to track us down through that. I realize I still have my phone on me, so I chuck it out the window. I can just get a new one once we get to Colorado. We are still in Missouri. It'll take us a few days including stops to get to Colorado since we are going by car.

We are right next to a gas station so I ask if we can stop so I can pee and get some snacks. After I pee, I get some drinks and chips and some of my cravings. I paid for it even though Ellie didn't want me to. We were back in the car and on the road again. I hate having to be in the car for so long, but if it'll keep my baby safe I will do it.
