You walked into the office ready to start your day. A message from Wanda popped up on your screen. 'See me in my office please.' Well, let's see what's going on. You whispered to yourself as you got up and walked the 10 feet to her office.
You knocked softly on Wanda's door and waited for a response. "Come in," you heard from the other side. You opened the door, "would you like me to shut it or leave it open?" You asked quietly. Wanda never looked up from her computer, "no, close it please." You quietly gulped, a closed door meeting, not looking you in the eye? Not good vibes. You shut the door and inched closer to her desk. Wanda finished what she was working on and turned her attention to you, "Y/N," she sighed and motioned for you to sit down. As you took your seat she continued, "your contract with us has been completed and unfortunately, your position wasn't picked up. The company is downsizing the AR department, they feel like a smaller team can handle the workload." She rolled her eyes while you on the other hand were struggling to hold back tears.
Your mind started racing while she droned on about how it wasn't your fault and how if it was up to her she would have kept you on board. 'you see how absolutely useless you are? no one wants you, not even a company.' your inner voice started again. You looked to Wanda with tear filled eyes, "I understand, I'll clean out my desk. Thank you for the opportunity." you shook her hand and walked out. You grabbed a box from the supply room and started packing your things. Nat saw you and quickly hugged you. "hey what's going on? why are you crying? why are you clearing out your desk?" she looked to you with care. You went on to explain what Wanda had said. She embraced you once again and looked to you, "hey, when the Maker closes one door, sometimes they open a window. You never know, this might be the push you need to go out and do your own thing." She gave you a reassuring smile. You did what you do best and put on a brave face with a fake smile. "Thanks Nat" she gave you one last hug and then programmed her number in your phone, as well as getting your number. "Text me if you need anything at all." You nodded and grabbed your things and walked to your car with Nat by your side. "are you going to tell Bucky?" she asked. You looked at her quizzically, and she smiled at you. "you can stop playing dumb, everyone knows that he has a thing for you. I noticed it your first day." You smiled and nodded, "alright fine but we haven't officially set up anything." you told her. She hugged you. "See! Maybe this is the reason you were brought here, cause Bucky is just...yummy! With all due respect" she said laughing. You smiled, "yea maybe." You placed your stuff in your car, waved to Nat, and made your way to Bucky's place.

You unlocked the door and made your way to the room and let yourself fall onto the bed. Reluctantly you pulled out your phone and texted Bucky, 'need some time to myself. At home, can you pick up the kids from afterschool care?' After a quick minute Bucky texted back, 'sure doll, everything ok? Do you need me to pick something up for you?' You smiled, 'how could he be so sweet to you? A loser who can't hold a job?' You shook your head and sighed. "maybe a shower will help me feel better." you said to no one in particular.
