THE STALE MORNING air made the girl shiver as she walked the streets, it was a day like any other as Kiyoko made her commute to Seien Junior High School.

The school was terrible to her, granted she was the most popular girl there it was only because of her retched surname and her looks.

Kiyoko took her shoes off at the entrance of the school, a good portion of the students gawked at her while others dashed in the other direction.

Kiyoko sighed and looked down at her shoes as she walked to her home room class. She sat down next to her only true friend, Ochako Uraraka, they've been friends ever since Kiyoko and her Aunt moved into a apartment building the very same one Uraraka lived in.

"Morning Kiyo-chan, how was your break?" Kiyoko smiled and waved as she thought back to her break of trying to have her aunt not burn the apartment down with her cooking, and a random binge of Disney movies.

"Good?" Kiyoko nodded as Ochako answered for her, "that's good, What I did over the spring break was sooo cool, my mom and dad took me to this really neat parade and we saw all sorts of pro-hero's— like hawks your favorite!" Kiyoko's eyes shined with interest as Ochako rambled on.

"Class is in session, please quiet down." The teacher came in with a stack of a papers in her hand. "So as third-year students it's time to start thinking seriously about your futures and what you want to do with your lives." She waved the stack of papers around for all to see "I could pass out career aptitude tests but... and i think you know where this is going." She set the papers on her desk with a thud.

"I know that you all want to be in the hero course." She grinned as the class showed off their quirks, most not nearly good enough to be a hero— because everyone is totally looking for a hero that can change their eye color on command— that was sarcasm if you couldn't tell.

"But, I am legally required too hand these out, so stop it with the show of talent." The class groaned as she handed the tests out.

Ochako talked to Kiyoko who listened silently as the two took their tests. "It says here that I should be a baker!" Ochako showed off the paper to the other girl who quirked an eyebrow. "...I think that says banker..." Kiyoko said in a hushed tone.

"Hmm, I think I'm going to stick with Baker I do quite like sweets." Ochako looked at Kiyoko's paper with a smile.

"Cool, it says you should be an Artist." Ochako pointed at the top choice.

"I think that would be a pleasant second ch—"

"WOAH! Hassaikai-san can talk?" An utterly annoying boy walked up to the two girls desk with his group of lackeys.

"Erm..." Kiyoko let out a sound of discomfort "Artist huh? That's a better option than being a hero." Ochako gasped.

"Especially since you have no quirk." One of his lackeys elbowed him in the ribs. "Dude, her surname she could fuck you up!" The boy scoffed.

"It's merely a coincidence that she was cursed with such a name." Kiyoko's eyes turned downcast.

The truth was she presented herself with no quirk, no quirk in todays society just sets you up for a lifetime of mocking, on top of her shyness and fear of speaking she's been bullied not to mention her surname was a curse on herself, but she wanted to keep it as a reminder for what she's working for.

"You're lucky you're pretty, maybe you'll marry rich—"

"Hatsuharu-San please step away from Hassaikai-chan." A hand was placed a hand on his shoulder, "it's not like you quirk is too hot either."
