Forgotten

That's how I felt when I got out of my bed and walked towards my window. Like no one even thought about me, like I was nothing. The world was just a big round circle filled with people who didn't care untill someone did what they want.

I was the someone. Always being judged by people by what they've heard about me. Many say I am the devil's son but to some I'm the devil himself.
I sighed and went into the bathroom. I stripped naked and got ready for work.

I descended the flight of stairs into the dining area. I faced the mirror that stood in the large room and straighten my suit and neck tie. I looked around and run a hand over my face. This place was a mess.

I walked out of my house and into the garage. I unlocked my car, got into it and roared the engine of my Audi to life. I exited the building and drove to my destination. I stepped on the brake when I came face go face with traffic.

I pulled out my phone and dialed my receptionist's number.

"Good morning Mr.Salvador" she answered.

"How's the search going?" My voice, still as cold as ice. The cars in front of me started moving and so did I.

"Umm we haven't found anyone suitable for the position as PA yet. But we- sorry, Eric is still looking together with the team" her voice was shakey and sounded small.

I hated it, but I couldn't fire her because she was the best we had in a long time as a receptionist.

I ended the call and continued my drive. Within a few minutes, I was in my usual parking garage. I got out of the car and walked into the building.

I watched as Reyna rushed to my side with an iPad in her hand. She pushed her glasses upwards to prevent it from falling of her face.

"Call Sharon and Penny. I need the house cleaned by the time I'm home" I said and walked into my elevator with her right behind me. Her short legs couldn't catch up with my speed.

My upper lip twitched at the thought but the look was quickly replaced with a cold look. "Yes sir". The elevator doors closed and I scanned my card giving me the access I wanted to get to my floor.

A ding was heard and I got out with Reyna still behind me. "I also need you to send me an email with the list of important things we have for the next three months. You can take your leave" with that, she was out of my office like she was never there.

I sat down and stared at the picture of Melanie that hung of my wall.

Maybe I could make things right but this was not the right time. I had to take my time.

Time

Probably something I had forgotten. I was ageing not getting younger. With time it was going to be okay. I just had to take my time. After getting Sammy ready for school I locked all the windows and doors.

We got into the car and I drove him to school. "Fast food Thursday?" He asked. I hunched over and kissed his forehead. I stared into his green eyes and nodded. "Now go before Miss Grace comes for you." He chuckled and waved at me.

I watched as he skipped into the building. I sighed and got into my car. I drove downtown to work. I worked at one out of ten offices for the FPF. Feminine Power Foundation.

Yep. Even though my only job was to sit behind a desk and answer calls from girls and women, it still put something on the table for Sammy and I.

I mean GirlPower right? I still didn't like my job. I walked into the office and made my way up the stairs. I pulled my keys out of my bag and unlocked the door. I walked in and sat down. I turned on my computer and logged into it.

Opportunity

I stared at the time on my watch

12:58 pm

Lunch.

I reached into my bag and took out my bowl. The door to my office was opened with force and I stared at a crazy looking Mitchell, my only friend in the entire building. She walked in and closed the door, waving a piece of paper in her hand.

She took a seat on my desk and stared at me."Hi?" She opened her mouth to speak but closed it and pushed her hand towards me. I grabbed the paper and look at it in confusion.

"Really, a PA position? Mitch I think it's a bit to much." She shook her head and continued staring at me. "They're offering 800$ a month" my mouth hung wide open. I knew she was just joking but I still had no choice since I had to do it for Sammy.

"I'll see what I can do" I opened the bowl and grabbed the sandwich. Mitch grabbed it before I could even take a bite."I already spoke with them, they wanna meet you tomorrow. So good luck" and with that she was out of my office, with my sandwich.

Priorities

Don't end up dead.

Take care of Sammy.

Live a happy life.

Unfortunately I could only accomplish two of those three. I parked the car in front of Sammy's school and got out. I waited and the bell was finally rung. The children in the building came out one by one and dropped their backs before running over to the play ground.

A small figure run over to my side with a smile on her face. I looked at her and grinned. "Where's Sammy?" I asked she shrugged and looked around to scan the crowd. "Aunty Li. Can I go home with you today?" I looked down at her and smiled "We're going to have to ask Mummy or Daddy first." Her face fell in disappointment and she pouted.

"LIIII!!" He shouted in excitement and run to me. He wrapped his arms around my legs and closed his eyes. I ruffled his hair and chuckled. He opened his eyes and stood still. His cheeks turned a shade of red.

"Hey Pearl" he murmured looking away. She giggled and waved at him. "I'll see you tomorrow" she leaned over and kissed his cheek. His whole face turned red even his ear.

Awwnn.

She run of and he looked at my face. "Somebody's got a girlfriend" I sang teasingly. He groaned and entered the car. The whole ride home, I was told wonderful stories about how he got a star and some boy in his class got jealous and had the nerve to give Pearl a sharpener.
It took everything in me not to burst out laughing because he was very serious.
