~first person POV~

"I give up." Kuroo groaned.
I couldn't help but smile at his helpless state, he really did have gifted kid syndrome huh? I guess I can't judge too much, I'm no better... just look at my grades.
"You can't give up kuroo, keep trying! you'll improve!"
"Oh come on, we've already been at this for a month! it's hard and takes like a million years to learn! I'm never going to get it!"
"It didn't take me long at all to pick up." I chimed, he of course just let out another frustrated groan.
"Seriously? You refuse to write a science paper because, and I quote "anything over 3 pages is mental torture." But this is easy for you?"

"Alright well... how about we make a deal." I watched as kuroo tilted his head towards me. A suspicious look evident on his face. "What deal?" He asked.
"If I finish my science paper will you try the violin again tomorrow?"
He let out an overdramatic sigh, though I was already aware of his answer. "Alright, fine." He replied.
"Wonderful! One other thing..."
Based on the look he gave me, I'm sure he knew exactly what I was going to say. "Yeah..?" He questioned
"Help me on the paper? I'll buy you coffee!"
Kuroo chuckled. "Well how could I say no to coffee?"

~second person POV~

You and kuroo sat in a quaint cafe, you stared blankly at your computer screen.
"Alright, to start just write the thesis statement." Kuroo explained.
"Alright uh... what is a thesis statement?" You asked, a puzzled look on your face.
Kuroo tried and failed to keep a straight face, holding back his laughter as well as he could. "How do you not know what a thesis statement is? They teach that in like the third grade."
"I never payed attention in school! I got distracted too easily!" You defended. Kuroo gave you a soft smile, scooting a bit closer to you. "Okay well, the thesis is a short, one or two sentence statement that tells the main point of your essay."

Eventually, 20 minutes had passed. And not a word had been written.
"I need a break. Being inside is suffocating! Let's go for a walk."
Kuroo only chuckled, he didn't know the girl well, but he knew her well enough to know she won't take no for an answer. She's got more determination than any sane person. If she decides she wants something, she'll get it.
"We can go for a walk. the sky is grey though, do you have an umbrella in case it rains?" He asked
You simply laughed, putting your laptop into your mess of a school bag. "Nope! But isn't that the fun of it? Take a risk for once kuroo." Kuroo rolled his eyes, yet there was no hesitation in his step as he followed you out the door.

The two of you walked for a while, making idle chatter. Until rain drops started to fall from the sky. "Kuroo, it's raining!"
Kuroo sighed "told you so."
"And I told you to take some risks! Just for the moment, stop thinking about the consequences and have some fun." I grinned.

~kuroos POV~

There was something about that smile of hers... it always seemed to light up a room, or in this case a street.
Was I the only person who noticed it?
Maybe that's why she was so good in the arts. she had a personality that overflowed, affecting everything she touched and everyone who saw her. Everywhere she went became just a little more beautiful, a little more positive.
A personality like hers was born to create... she was truly something else.
Back then... I could only wonder how she saw me.
