Song: another life by flower face

Todays practice was in the morning, before classes start. Since kuroo would be busy after school when they normally met up.
Y/n ran into the music room with a bright smile. "Kuroo! I finished my science paper, read it for me!"
Kuroo took the laptop from the girl and read through her essay. To her credit, technically the requirements were filled... she even reached 5 pages which she wasn't all that keen on, but...
"Wow this is..."
"Amazing? Incredible? Breathtaking? Show stopping?"
"Horrible..."
"Huh?!"

"L/n this is an absolute mess, it's all over the place. I mean you got sidetracked four different times and started taking about nonsense, and it looks like you discovered thesaurus and used it on every other word so you'd sound smarter."
The girl gave kuroo a pout. "The thesaurus thing may or may not be accurate... Well who cares! our deal was that if I finish my paper you'd try the violin again. And I did it!" She beamed, her attitude shifted so quickly, it seemed as if nothing could get her down for more than a few seconds...
"I guess so... let's get this over with.

Any violinist knows, a broken string is nothing to cry over. Sometimes it's the fault of the violin, sometimes it's the fault of the violinist, hell, sometimes it's even the fault of the weather!
All the best violinists have experienced their fair share of broken strings... so why do you look so distressed kuroo? You look almost scared...
"Oh the string broke? That's alright!" I tried to reassure you, but your expression didn't change.
"It's not alright, I failed again... I can't get it right and every time I try again, something goes wrong! I don't understand why I can't do this..."

something is so off about him. He isn't looking at me. Rather, he's staring off into the distance... I wonder what he's seeing that I'm not.
"We should stop meeting..." he mumbled, still not looking in my direction.
"What? Why!?" I asked.
"Im just waisting your time. Im never going to improve." He looked up at me, out of the trance he seemed to be in. "You're really incredible y/n, you could be doing much more worth while things with your time but instead you spend it teaching me... you deserve much better than this." Silence followed, in all honesty it was hard to respond to something like that...

"Oh don't be so dramatic kuroo! Without you here I wouldn't have even tried writing that essay. And a broken string is nothing to cry over. it can be fixed, it's just broken for the time being!"
He gave me a soft smile, I could tell that he realized how crazy he was being. That's fine though, we're all a little crazy from time to time.
"It's almost time for class. I'll see you here tomorrow, right kuroo?"
I heard him chuckle while I walked to the other side of the room to grab my bag. "Sure, I'll see you tomorrow.

Kuroo caught himself staring at the woman, who was now packing her things. He truly found every little thing about her so incredible. From the sounds she produced on any instrument of her choice, to something as simple as the way the sun gave such a beautiful glow to her s/c skin. To Kuroo, she looked ethereal in any setting. He couldn't quite call it a crush, it was more akin to admiration and wonder.
"You really don't seem to enjoy the violin, and art is about expressing yourself through something you enjoy. Would you like to try something else?" She asked
"I think that's a good idea, yes." He replied.
"Wonderful, than meet here tomorrow for your first lesson in piano." She gave the man a small smirk and a wink before walking off.
Yeah okay... maybe this was a crush.

Kuroo was supposed to be tutoring someone after school, but they never showed up. After about ten minutes of waiting he received a text telling him that they couldn't make it... so much for agreeing to help your classmates huh?

The only plus side is that now he could see y/n, if she was still in school that is.
As kuroo reached the music room, He heard muffled crying.
"Y/n? What's wrong?"
"Huh?" She looked up from her spot on the ground to see kuroo peeking into the room. The woman quickly wiped the tears from her eyes. "Nothing.., I'm fine."
"You clearly aren't fine. Tell me what happened." Kuroo replied, sitting next to her on the floor.

"I uh... I'm failing science now, that essay took my grade even further down."
'She always seemed so carefree about her grades, I never would have thought that a bad grade would affect her in such a way." Kuroo thought.
"I promise I'm trying kuroo... I'm doing my absolute best but at this point I'm beyond repair, shattered hearts aren't meant to be fixed, are they?" Tears once again trickled down her face, kuroo wanted nothing more than to stop the pain she felt. But he really didn't know how...

"Your best is your best, that's all it can be." He smiled.
"And you of all people should know that isn't the case. Shattered hearts are like broken strings, you're not beyond repair... it's like you said, you're just broken for the time being."
Y/n found his gentle smile so reassuring...

"Thank you kuroo..." I replied.
"No problem, I'll grab you some water okay? Stay right here."
"Alright."
When we first met, I saw you as just another person. I found you interesting, sure. But I didn't see you as all that different from anyone else who only spoke to me because they found intrigue in the prodigy.
And every day since, you've proven me a little more wrong. Am I falling for you? Would you even care if I were?
