Chapter Twenty-One

Gwen

My body is on fire with desire and Jason's massaging of my thighs didn't do anything to extinguish it, even as the image of him kissing that dyed brunette at the club stays behind my eyelids. I watched him take her into the bathroom before finding the bartender, who'd so kindly informed me that he's getting off work twenty minutes after we'd arrived when I ordered, and leaving with him.

The twenty-five-minute drive was filled with foreplay and when we'd fallen over on the couch with his face in my neck, I'd wanted nothing more than to have him fuck me senseless on the couch, but for some fucking reason I'd tried to stall, insisting on making out like teenagers. When I'd finally been ready Jason arrived home and I knew if I were to continue things would not have ended the way they have.

I roll over in his arms and feel his breath brush over my cheeks, sliding my hand up from his back to his cheek. His eyes flutter open and he meets my gaze sleepily before a small smile spreads over his face and he pulls me closer; placing his hand on my lower back and wrapping his arm around my upper back, hauling me against his chest, and nuzzling his face in my hair.

I take a deep, calming breath and entwine our legs before closing my eyes and allowing myself to drift off again against Jason, my hand still cupping his cheek.

I groan softly when I wake up, feeling large hands gliding over my back and through my hair and I refuse to open my eyes, afraid the hands might stop. Strong fingers knead the muscles between my shoulders and gently massage my scalp as I lean my forehead against a warm, solid chest.

I inhale Jason's scent and burrow deeper into his embrace. I'm not the type to hang onto actions from the past, but I'm not about to let myself forget that he'd slept with another girl last night before interrupting my own rendezvous and cock-blocking me.

'Gwen?' his voice is deliciously rough and gritty first thing in the morning and I simply sigh and snuggle deeper, causing a chuckle to rumble through his chest before I feel his lips on the top of my head, his arms tightening around my body.

'You don't want to wake up?' he asks softly and I nod against his chest, the position extremely comfortable and warm.

'Are you happy I'm off work?' he teases in my ear and I smile, turning my head into his chest and feeling the fine hairs there tickle the tip of my nose.

Jason continues to run his hand though my hair and his fingers knead my shoulders and back gently. He holds me close enough that I can feel his morning erection against my stomach and I can't resist the urge to slide my hand over it, hearing him hiss in a breath and shift his head to rest his chin on my head.

'Gwen,' he warns softly and I smile into his chest, doing it again. His arms tighten even as his hand leaves my back to slide down to my hip, his fingers digging into the flesh there.

I'm not going to lie; I want Jason and I have for the last four months that I've known him.

'Hmm?' I mumble, running my hand up to his chest and resting it over his pounding heart.

'I'm not going to be held responsible for what happens if you keep going down this path,' he mutters, sliding his hand from my hip down to my thigh and sliding between the fold my legs are creating before resting the side of his hand against my core. I know he can feel my arousal against his hand, just as I can feel his against my stomach.

'If something does happen, promise me things won't change between us,' I whisper against his chest and he removes his hand from between my legs to cup my face and tilt my gaze up to his.

'I can't promise that, Gwen, but I can promise you that our friendship will stay intact,' he says and I see the sincerity in his eyes and I bite my lip. Jason pulls it from between my teeth and his eyes darken with desire, the erection against my stomach twitching slightly.
