"Louis auditioned for a dance contest ya know", Zayn reported randomly as everyone ate their spaghetti. "What? Where was it? Why didn't ya tell Lou?", The woman with perfectly curled brown hair questioned, clearly quite upset of how little she knew. "I didn't even think I was gonna get in Mum, it was just a living in the moment sort of thing....but I did make the finals anddd there may or may not be a partner boy for me instead of a partner girl which I definitely ain't complaining about," Louis smirked, remembering the dumbfounded look on the long haired, tall, hunk of cuteness. "What's the prize for it?". Louis' mother (known as Jay) was very much intrigued by this as she put her elbow on the table and hand securely on her chin.
"Regular on DC I guess". Suddenly that seemed more exciting than the extravagant flow of money.
"What about college Louis....didn't ya wanna be a football star, be a real pro. You can't do that with your dance shit going on!", The bald man snapped harshly but Louis stood strong as it was his dream and he chose what he wanted to do with it. "Don't have a fit Dad! For goodness sake it's my life!". A frustrated huff came from the 21 year old but he didn't cause further aggravation. All that could be heard was the clang of forks as everyone continued to awkwardly eat the spaghetti. Tensions soon raised causing Zayn and Louis to quickly be enveloped in it and excuse themselves.
...
"5216876", Harry mumbled as he carefully took the phone off the wall to press the small buttons. A feeling of nausea took over him. What if the tiny lad didn't really want him to call? But then why would he give him the number? Harry slapped his head, annoyed with himself for feeling so angsty. Dialling the number, he impatiently waited till a high pitched voice came through the other end.
"Hello", He said uncertainly. "Hi em it's Harry from the contest...I'm your partner". The curly headed lad smiled so gleefully as the perfect one seemed very happy to hear from him. Apparently he'd been waiting for a while which embarrassed Harry slightly. His name was Louis and he lived on 3 Carpent Drive, only a few minutes away from the nervy one to be exact. The time was 7 o'clock and it was arranged for him to be at Louis' for nine so it was an easy travel. "Eh I gotta go but I'll see you okay....okay bye". Harry could secretly be a mermaid! He kept that breath in for so long. He was so nervous from the amount of sweat exported onto the outskirts of his skin and he knew it was only going to get worse.
...................................................................................................................................
"Mum,Dad, I'm going to a friend's house," Harry announced before quickly leaving. The father's overprotectiveness was getting annoying very quick to the teenager. These kids were just your basic high school bullies. They put up a fight but if the tall body of muscle raised his hand even a little, he knew they'd back off. Sure they sometimes had weapons and used drugs but only to define a stereotypical definition of cool. Probably didn't know anything about the dangerous things they fraternised with. "HARRY",A thick Doncaster accent sounded, making the younger lad jump out of his skin. "I thought I'd meet you half way and take ya to the fields...there's more land to practice than my dingy backyard".
And so the perfect one guided him.
A pristine piece of land graced his feet. It looked beautiful in the dark lit up by the stars in the sky. Almost magical. "Lets start with some warm ups....press ups", Louis coached, getting down in a plank position before preforming a clean set of them. Harry wasn't the best with gym warm ups so he did what he usually would. Jog on the spot for ten seconds then speed off in any direction before flipping into a front toss. Then he'd finish it with stretches that involved him pulling his leg to his face. Louis watched, in awe of Harry's flexibility, all he could do was a crab, none of that gymnast stuff. But watching Harry made him want to learn....maybe he could teach him. In their bed. Louis mentally smacked himself on the head for the words in his mind.
"Hey, maybe we could try something like this", Louis smirked before moving his arm up to the sky. His left foot and right foot swerved together creating a jazzy type feel. "I saw that in three different adverts...it's too easy. We should use something like this," Harry stated, ignoring Louis' offended glare. One pirouette into a stag jump. "Bit babyish don't ya think...and here I thought you were more sophisticated than that". The lanky heartthrob was becoming quite angered by the sassiness of his partner but swallowed down his shouts with a compromise. He decided to once again start with a pirouette but end it with the swishing of his feet bringing back that jazziness. "Leave out the pirouette, we ain't ballerinas". All the other boy did was snort and shake his head.
"What do you suggest we do?No ballet at all when it's one of the skills shown in DC...We need everything! The pirouette stays," Harry demanded, moving his blowing hair out of his vision. The oldest just rolled his eyes before walking closer than before, meaning he had to crane his neck which he hated. "What?" Harry looked dumbly at the feather haired brunette with laughter rising. Louis didn't reply, he just walked behind the confused teen to try and lift him. The green eyed one cackle so hard he couldn't stand straight, hands planted on his knees. "You think you can lift me. Ha! You look like you could barely lift a garden gnome", Harry chortled uncontrollably until his eyes went wide.
"So your a garden gnome then", The cocky lad smiled to himself as he had planted his arms around the muscular frame, bringing it off the floor with ease. Harry only wiggled in his grasp like a toddler in a highchair. "You're holding too tight". After watching the brunette struggle, Louis decided it was only polite to let him stand on his own two feet again, no matter how good he felt.
"Wanna pick this up tomorrow?" Louis smiled, placing his hands snugly in his pockets. It was clear his partner was beginning to have a certain affect on him but it was too soon to tell. Harry mirrored his posture and nodded and soon he was gone...but not exactly home.
At first he was going home but then made a quick choice to take the long route. It was a very silly choice as the grand clock was almost chiming midnight. He was mentally prepared for his parents to berate but the sky was just too beautiful. Buildings of all time and shape followed his eyes. Bare streets made it easy for him to do random turns just right. It was just like a movie and Harry was soaking in the feeling thoroughly .
Moving to the depth of darkness, not even a street lamp could light up the pale face. No noise. No movement. Just Harry and his clouded breathing whenever exhaling. They made tiny patterns like snowflakes dancing with the wind. In all this dark, Harry could finally see the full intricacy of every breath. This was a good distraction from the real world. Inhaling for a superior amount of time before blowing out his breath making it look like he was one of those teenagers. It never dawned on the nineteen year old just how loud his breaths were in all this emptiness. But right now he couldn't care less. It was therapeutically calming and Harry liked it.
The amount of cringe the lad felt when looking at his old watch was quite humorous. 1 o'clock in the morning. His Mum and Dad would be completely loosing themselves to madness trying to find his whereabouts. Harry was never one to miss curfew or wander around at all.
The frost from the light wind made Harry fall into a daze. It was almost like he was going around in circles in the mind. Counting sheep like at children's bedtimes. Gripping at the cosy jumper was not enough anymore as he felt he'd freeze to death and he surrendered himself to that.
"FREEZE!" The cold and tired voice boomed, echoing off the walls of the many buildings. Slowly, the obedient teen turned to the sound of the noise with the feeling of his legs beginning to buckle at the amount of rage present in his father's stance and grimace. "I-I'm sorry Dad...this sky was just so-". A hand quickly shooting up right before his face told Harry all he needed to know. He needed to shut up.
"I spent an hour looking for you...Your mother was in a state! You may technically be an adult but you will always be my child Harry! Your mine and I ain't having you wondering these streets at such an hour! Do this again and I'm putting you on a complete house arrest. Got it!". The mix of emotions confused Harry but he still cooperated, walking in a terrible silence back to the cottage house.
