•Escape Room•

Chanel's POV
Today's my birthday! So me and my friends are going to this popular escape room. People say super hard to get out so we wanted to try it. Plus I'm taking three of my friends so it won't just be me doing everything.

"When are we gonna get thereee??" Simone says sulking back in her seat. "Stop being so loud. Simone the gps says we're almost there!" Mai tells Simone. "Y'all act like kids hahaah" Leah laughs. "We're here now so no more fusing ha!" I say.

As we walk out we get to a tall old lookin building. "Are you sure this the right place?" Simone asks me. "Yea it should be. I put the right location on the gps and it took us here." I look at the place not feeling so sure about it.

Mai starts to walk to the entrance "We'll only know if take a look for ourselves, c'mon!" Simone and Leah then pull me to entrance with them. As we go into the building, to my surprise I see a lady at the front desk.

"Welcome, choose the escape room you'd like to start with." I turn around to see the entrance door has disappeared somehow. "Guys the-" I say but Mai cuts me off "We'll take this one" Mai points to a scary looking room. "Okay I'll get the room ready for you all. Just sit back and relax." The lady says with a smile.

"Guys the entrance door just disappeared! Look!" I point to the door getting their attention. "Wait...it really isn't there..." Leah says in scared tone. Simone runs to where the dirt used to be and tries pushing the now wall with all her strength.

Simone turns around to us"I-it's gone..." The room goes to silent for a little bit. "D-Duh that's the point of an escape room, we have to find a way out of here." She rolls her eyes as she looks around the room.

We all get up and look for clues. "I found a note!" I say picking it up. "Nothing but time it's self can stop me." Just as I finish reading the note all the walls except for one turns into chainsaws.

"OH MY GOSH WE NEEDA FIND A CLOCK AND FAST!!" Simone panicky says. We all rush and look for a clock. "I FOUND A STOPWATCH !!" Leah then tries to break the stopwatch but is too weak.

I grab it a throw it at the chainsaws, it immediately breaks. The chainsaws stop and a door suddenly opens. We run through the door as the room we left is full of fire.

We all stop in the room and catch our breaths. "This isn't just a escape room anymore guys" Simone breathes hard. "Ya think?" Mai sarcastically says. The only reason I invited Mai was because the so called "escape room" required a total of four people.

We all look up to observe the new room. It seems to be the inside of a small house. I cautiously walk around and look for clues, the rest of the girls do the same.

Simone opens the fridge and says "I found a secret way out!" She walks in a immediately gets shoot from the inside. "NOOO" Leah runs to Simone runs to Leah's body but her shirt gets tugged on the kitchen drawer's and opens if a little.

Leah then gets shot and drops to the floor. Just then, a note pops out the drawer. Mai picks it up, "IT SAYS 'GROCERY LIST: CEREAL, PLASTIC SPOONS, AND MILK!" We both gather all the things on the grocery list and put it on the kitchen island.

The house's front door unlocks and opens. We run out into another room as the last one gets burned down. I cry because my two best friends just died, now I'm stuck here with someone who doesn't even like me in an empty white room.

"It's just the two us now..." Mai looks blankly at the ceiling. "Yep" I sigh. "I have to confess something...I- and you don't have to say anything, but I may seem rude and mean to you but...I actually have a huge crush on you." I stay quiet, processing what I just heard. "Once again I'm not forcing you to say anything so...im sorry for tell you, I just had to get that off my chest-"

She freezes as I hug her tightly. "Y-You don't hate me?" She tears up. "No! I never would Mai. I just thought you hated me. For like ever! Haha" she hugs me back. "I've never hated you I just hated myself for you not liking me back. And I took the hate out on others." She looks down in disappointment.

"Well, that's not true-" I was cut over by a loud speaker turning on. "YOU WILL NOW PLAY A GAME OF DECISION." Decision? What're we gonna do this time...? "YOU BOTH WILL BE COMPETING IN A GAME OF...JENGA."

"Remember we used to play this game all the time?" Mai sadly smiles. "Yea those were good times." I nod and smile as tears fall down my face, knowing I was never good at this game.

A table with the jenga arises from the floor. We sit down on the seats under the table. As we're half way into the game, the floor starts rotating. Mai and I keep the game together as best as we can. The floor then stops.

"I love you, Chanel..." Mai smiles as she kisses my cheek. "W-Why are you saying that now?" I ask. "Because I won't be able to say it at our wedding." She smile and looks at me. "Yes we will! We can get out of here together and live life together! We just gotta-" I try to explain my plan. "No we won't. We can't. This is my final day." She smiles and closes her eyes. "Wait...no...stop don't you dare-" she then knocks down the jenga.

"Goodbye Chanel, live life to the fullest everyday...I love you." Mai then gets shot splattering blood all over my face. I freeze for awhile and start silently crying.

A gas is then released into the room and it knocks me out.

I wake up in a hospital bed. My mom sees that I'm now awake and runs to get the nurses and doctors. Nurses and doctors come rushing in. My following behind them. "Baby your awake! I missed you so very. I love you so much!" My moms me tightly and kisses my cheek.

After doctors ask questions and all that, they tell me "Chanel, you've been in a coma for 2 years...after getting into a car crash with your friends." "Where are my friends? Did they make it?!" I ask. "I'm sorry...none of them but you made it." I cry and continue to hug my mom.

~Time skip 5 years later~

I walk up to Mai's grave and put flowers on it per usual. "I love you too Mai, I'm living life to the fullest..." I smile and wipe a single tear off my face. "Are you ready Chanel?" My wife says as she rubs my back to comfort me.

"Yes, let's go." I stand on my feet, look back at the grave one last time. I then kiss my wife's cheek and say "Let's live life to the fullest!" I pick her up bridal style and run to the car. "Stop play around hahahah we're gonna be late for our flight hahahahha!!"

We get into the car and drive away〜
