Y/n felt her body hit the floor. Causing a loud thud.

She sat there, back against her bed. Her breathing ragged as she opened her eyes to stare at the mirror before her.  She couldn't think. She couldn't move. All she could do was sit there whilst the sound of cracking bones replayed in her head over and over again.

"What... what the hell was that..." She whispered. Her voice barely audible even to herself.

Her attention was snatched by the sudden opening of her bedroom door. Her roommate Joseline stood in the door way, squinting her eyes as she turned on Y/n's bedroom light.

"What's going on?" She asked groggily, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She looked down at Y/n, taking in her ridged posture and the look of fear in her eyes.

"Hey... are you okay?" She walked over to Y/n and crouched beside her, placing a hand on her arm. "You look like you've seen a ghost"

Y/n just looked at her. Joseline's brown eyes showed concern as she waited for Y/n to answer.

"I.... I don't know" Y/n replied, looking back at the mirror. It no longer showed the rippling glass like before. Instead it looked just like a regular mirror. Had it all just been a dream? A hallucination?

"I heard a thud so I wanted to check to see if you were alright. But I'm guessing you just fell out of bed" Joseline smiled playfully. "Come on, lets get you off the floor"

Joseline stood up and held out her hand for Y/n to take, which she accepted.

"I think you're right...... I had this... really vivid dream" Y/n said, sitting on the edge of her bed, glancing back to the mirror.

"It must've been quite vivid for you to fall out of bed" Joseline replied, stretching her arms above her head and yawning.

"Yeah... I guess so"

Joseline eyed Y/n carefully.

"Hey... you sure you're okay?" She asked, tilting her head.

Y/n looked back at Joseline. Taking a moment to answer.

"Uhh yeah... yeah I'm good" she replied. Nodding and forcing a smile at her friend as confirmation.

"As long as you're sure.. then I'm going back to bed. I gotta be up in like... three hours for work..." Joseline said as she walked out of Y/n's room. "If you need anything, come wake me up okay? Goodnight!" She added as she closed Y/n's door behind her.

"Goodnight..." Y/n replied.

She sat in silence. Her mind continuing to replay the horrid event like a broken record. She knew that Joseline was probably right. It was just a dream! A dream that happened to be super-ultra realistic... and nothing more.

She looked around her room and took a deep breath.

"Just a dream... it was just a dream" She whispered to herself. Turning off her bedroom light and jumping into bed. She snuggled into her covers and closed her eyes, trying to get as comfortable as possible. But flashes began to enter her mind.

The man. His cries for help. The look of pure fear in his eyes. The giant human like hand that snatched him up.

His bloodcurdling screams.

His bones breaking..

The sound of chewing...

Y/n's eyes shot open as she sat up in bed, her heart racing as a sense of unease washed over her.  There was no way she'd be able to sleep now. Her mind was far too active to get any sort of rest.

She reached out to her bedside table to grab her phone, checking the time.

"4:03am...."

She huffed as she turned on her bedside lamp, illuminating the room. She got out of bed and began to pace.

"Come on Y/n, gotta calm down.... take deeeeep breaths. In for 3... hold for 2.... out for 3...." She repeated to herself, following her own instructions.

Every so often she would pass the mirror. Taking a moment to glance at it but then turn her attention back to her breathing. It wasn't until she passed it a fourth time that she stopped to look at her reflection.

She held her breath as she hesitantly reached out to touch the reflective glass. Feeling the cool material press against her finger tips, she released her breath, breathing a sigh of relief.

"There... a perfectly normal household mirror... and nothing more..." She muttered. Scowling at her reflection. She felt silly for being affected by something that was nothing more than her own imagination.

She sighed and shook her head dismissively before reaching out to rub away her fingerprints from the glass.

"I can't believe I let such a stupid-" Her words halted as her hand dissapeared through the mirror again.

"OH MY GOD-"

But before she could say another word, her whole body was suddenly pulled through the mirror. The sheer force sent her flying as she passed through and was violently thrown to a floor.

She gasped as the impact winded her... she tried to get up but winced at the pain in her side.

"Arghh..." She groaned, the pain radiating through her body. She slowly looked up from the floor to look at her surroundings.

"No... no no..." She whispered, frantically looking round the room. It was the cabin.

She grit her teeth as she forced herself to stand. Wobbling over to the mirror, she pushed against the glass. But it was firm.

She pushed again, putting as much force as she could against it, desperate to go back. But the mirror remained.

She was trapped.
