"Hello, again," She said quietly.
"Can you tell me a story?" I asked, my legs felt weak, the blanket wrapped around my head did little to keep me warm from the bitter frost that blasted outside.
"Of course," She said, sitting by the fire in the empty, dark stone room.

Have you ever looked into the sky and wondered what those giant lights were? The pale, small one was a giant, and her name is Moon. With four sets of wings, she shined her light in the dead of night to the small planet she flew around steadily.
On the other side of the planet, the giant red light had one set of wings, but with his mane ablaze, he was bright enough to warm the entire world with one beat of his wings.
These two celestial beings would never meet. Forever they flew around this world, perfectly in sync to keep a balance of dark and light upon the small world they promised to keep safe.
Without ever knowing the other, in their minds, it was just them and the dark vacuum of space they were brought into. It was lonely, all alone in the dark, both thinking they were the only guardian of the planet.
One cycle, Moon was flying around the planet, and noticed a small inhabitant of the tiny planet walk onto a mountain and hold up an even smaller pale blue flower. It drooped down slightly, as if Moon's light was unworthy of it as the scaled creature took a step forward in her light.
"It only blooms in the night, it only blooms for you," The dragon said, lifting the small flower above their head. Taken aback, Moon had lost a beat of her wings, shocked that the dragon could speak to her. It was the first time a guardian had lost their pace.
On the day ward side of the planet, Sun was burning his light toward the planet. He wasn't thinking of much until he saw the crescent tip of Moon's tail as it dipped below the planet in her astonishment.
Suddenly, without thinking, he called out to her, like before.
"Hello?" He asked the void, yet he didn't get a reply. Louder, He thought, but a part of him wasn't sure if the planet would be okay if he yelled.
"Hello!" He yelled to the little white crescent that he saw. Silence presumed around him. It seemed as if the void was hiding his fire, taking his voice away.
It was useless, wasn't it? He began to think. He looked away from the planet and continued to fly around and around, tired of pretending.
Suddenly a sweet, distant voice spoke out to him. It sounded much like his mother Creation's voice. Light, sweet.
"Who's there?" The little voice asked. A smile drew to his face. A friend in the boundless void. Someone for him to be with. To talk to.
Many a millenia passed yet they never saw each other. Just voices in the void. Yet Moon had fallen out of flight everytime she had heard his voice. It was a sweet melody that had beaten the void away for her. It brushed off any loneliness, and she had decided that she loved him more than anything on Adalinda.
One day, quickly forgetting about Adalinda and working up the nerve to see Sun, she flew faster than she had ever thought she could around the blue oceans and green lands. Across the gray mountain, above the clouds, she flew straight into Sun's wings.
The heat quickly began consuming her scales as she rested her head next to Sun's. Sun of whiched dwarfed her, burning through her wings quickly.
"I love you," She said, as if she couldn't see the smoke rising off her scales.
"I-" Sun began, clearly seeing her scales begin to blacken. His first instinct was to shove her away with his tail. His flames seemed to dullen as he saw Moon drift away onto her side of the planet.
He could see tears in her eyes as her scales suddenly uncharted into the light gray they were before. The dark blue of her wings suddenly getting their white stars back.
He wanted to tell her that he loved her too. That, even if there was another guardian, he would choose her over and over and over again, but what if she came back again? Burned herself again? Threw Adalinda into darkness and chaos again?
"I...I could never love you!" He screamed, he quickly looked away the moment he finished, not letting her see the steam burning off his face.

"And like that," She said, "They never spoke to each other again," She said looking down at me.
"They both soon began to regret their choices, but both were too wrapped up in their own thoughts to speak anymore," She finished.
