Katie's eyes widened at the sight of my wings.
"Don't scream!!" I said anxiously, wincing at the sound of my deep, husky voice.
"Are they real?" She inquired reaching out to my feathery wings. I pulled them away, quickly moving off the side of the bed. I didn't want to freeze her just 30 seconds after she just saw me.
"Can't I touch them?"
"No!" I say firmly "its to dangerous!"
"What? So I ruffle a few feathers? I'm sure it's nothing you can't sort out later." And then, suddenly she's across the bed, her frozen hand touching my wings.
I quickly move away from her and then touch the palm of her hand to un-freeze her.
"That is why you can't touch me, unless I know you're going to or I let you, otherwise my reflex is to 'freeze' you."
Katie looked bewildered, her usually smooth forehead had crinkled in confusion and she was staring at her hand.
"Can I touch you now?" She asked, her question was cautious, she clearly hadn't been expecting me to make her immobile like that.
"No, certainly not for a long time."
"Oh!"
This had just got a lot more complicated than I expected it to be, I really should have kept that human body for this meeting with Katie.
****************
The angel, at least that's what I thought he was, moved away from the bed. I looked around me, for the first time, and saw that I was in a small room that was completely bare except for the bed I was sitting on the edge of and a naked bulb.
"Where am I?" I asked, I was suddenly starting to feel nervous, I was in an empty room, except for a bed, with one exit and a beautiful angel blocking it.
"How should I put this lightly? Hmm.... Let's just say that you are in a place no other living human being has ever been."
The angel said slowly, picking his words clearly to keep me calm. This immediately made it worse.
"I need to get out of here" I said, starting to get off the bed
"Oh no you don't," the angel said, and he hopped lightly forward to touch the back of my hand.
Now I wasn't going anywhere.
