The Next Step: Stand Out

Chapter Three

Daniel's POV

After the whole voting thing, I was walking into Squeezed when I saw West and Eldon sitting at a table. I am pretty bummed that I let Chloe twist me round her little finger- she used to not be like that.

But now she's a E-Girl, I'm guessing we have no chance.

'Hey West, Eldon.' I say to them. 'Yo!' Eldon waves, and West is not looking at me, for some reason.

James walks up to us, plotting down on a seat. 'Did you see Emily and Riley earlier?' Eldon says. I nod. 'Yup. It was cold, even for Emily.' 

'Agree.' West remarked. 

'Oh, and by the way, Riley's coming to the beach tomorrow, so maybe don't make too big of a deal about it.' James says, almost too casually.

Suddenly, It clicked. And it did in Eldon's brain too. 'YOU LIKE RILEY!' We both shouted at the same thing. James blushes like a tomato, while the lady severing drinks gives us a weird look.

'Shut up!' He hisses, and West smirks. 'Guess you shouldn't of opened your big mouth, Daniel.' Why has West got it out for me?

'What's the deal with you, West?' Eldon says uneasily, trying to lighten the mood. West glares at me and walks out.

'Stupid crush.' I heard him mutter.

What?

'What's got his knickers in a twist?' James wonders, and on cue me and Eldon shout his famous quote.

'DONT EVEN WORRY ABOUT IT!'

Time skip to le beach :3

Michelle's POV

Since James was the only one who could drive, he was picking us up.

When the horn beeped, I ran out into the car. It was a small car with the roof down. James and Daniel were in the front, while Me, Eldon and West were squashed in the back.

As we were pulling up at Riley's, James turned to Daniel. 'In the back.' He ordered.

'Woah! I don't even think that's safe! Riley is just gonna have to be between us.' Daniel protests, and Eldon laughs,me joining in.

'Don't worry about Daniel liking Riley, we all know he has his heart set on Chloe.' West pipes up, and we laugh, Daniel included.

'Hey guys!' Riley says brightly. 'Erm, where do I sit?'

'On James's lap.' Eldon snickers. I laughed with him. Eldon is really funny, and nice. James rolls his eyes. 'Between me and Daniel.'

Riley obeys, and we head to the beach! 

After about a hour at the beach, I decide we might as well play some Frisbee. 

'Let's play some Dance Frisbee?' I suggest, taking out a Frisbee I brought with us. Everyone nods, and we started to play. 

'Wait! Where's my bag!' Riley shouts, and nobody answered. 'Don't you have it?' James said, picking up the Frisbee. Riley shook her head, looking worried.

'Did someone steal it?' Eldon asked, as we all crowded round our little spot of beach, looking for her bag. 

'I don't know.' Riley said, looking glum. I give her a pat on the arm. 'Don't worry. We'll find it.' 

'But it's Emily's bag! She's never going to talk me if I don't find it.' She says, biting her lip.

'Ohhhh, you're dead!' West laughed, and everyone shot him a glare. 

About 3 hours later :P

Riley's POV

'Riley, look, I'm sorry, but we have to leave now. I have a Math test tomorrow, and I need to study...' James says softly, and I feel like crying. I pretty much ruined our day at the beach.

Daniel, Michelle, Eldon and West had all gone on ahead, but Daniel suddenly runs back. 'Oh, you'll never beileve this!' He shouts.

My bag is in the car.

'I'm such a idiot.' I say, feeling bad I ruined the day. Michelle smiles. 'Hey, don't worry, at least we found it! And Emily will never know.' We all laugh.

It felt good to have friends who don't blame me. 

'Bye!' I shout, as I get out the car. James dropped everyone off before me, so it was a little bit awkward. 

'Bye, Riley!' He shouts back, and I smile.

It was an amazing day.

Emily is sitting at the table, eating some pizza with Stephanie, who gives me the cold shoulder. I roll my eyes, and I go to my room.
