(Jack's P.O.V)
We were so close.
Just one kiss was all we needed.
But no.
Chris just HAD to walk in just as our lips were barely touching.
Chloe grabbed the popcorn and we left the kitchen. Chris and Emily were talking about something but they stopped when they noticed we were in the room.
They were probably talking about us...
(Chris' P.O.V)
"I don't know what they were doing in there, but all I know is that I didn't like it." I told Emily.
"Why? What do you think happened?" She asked me.
"Like I said, I don't know. But they got scared when I popped my head through the door."
"Well Chris, nobody actually expects a random person to pop their head through the door without knocking." she retorted.
"Where have I heard this before." I said dryly. Note the sarcasm.
"I don't think they'd actually do anything intimate. Jack made a promise, and as far as I know, he's a loyal guy. Has he ever betrayed you? I don't think so."
I didn't say anything.
She wasn't wrong. Jack was the most loyal guy I'd ever met. That's one of the reasons why he's my best friend.
He wouldn't actually betray our promise...
Would he?
"I guess you're right, I mean he would nev-..." I started. Just as I began to speak, Jack and Chloe walked into the room, so I stopped talking.
I couldn't let them know we were talking about them.
