Pray for the Best

Dreaming?

Wait, What happened?

I open my eyes and see what looks like water all around me

I look up and see the moon but somethings isn't right

Am I in the lake again?

I can breathe though.

I see a drop of water fall making the water around me ripple.

Then another falls. Then another

Is it raining? But I'm in the water?

I look up but there's no moon but instead chase and what looks like red and blue lights behind him.

As tears drop from his eyes.

I try to run to him but as I ran the farther I moved from him.

I run until I can't see Chase anymore, but instead just pitch black darkness. I can't really see anything anymore. I stare into the darkness.

Flames rush up behind me. Then in front of me. 

I look around and see that I'm  in a room

Am I in the cabin?

I see a small pup hiding under the table next to me. I walk to him. "Hey! Kid! Are you ok?" I ask him.

No answer. A older female pup rushes to him and runs right "through" me.

"What?" The little pup starts to cry

It hurts...

The table bursts into flames causing it to fall on her and the pup.

I hear crying from the other room. Four other pups. Yelling for there mom. The door was being blocked I was able to look in. The flames growing bigger round them...

What am I supposed to do? 

I yell

I hear screams all around me. 

Then silence... all I can hear is the crackling of the fire. The mother and the child just laying there as the table burns on top of them. I make my way to the what was left of the door to the other room. The corpse's of the four small pups laying there in the fire.  

I look around. No way out. 

There was nothing left to do...

I look at my paw, then place it in the fire.

"I feel nothing." 

I pull my paw out. I walk through the fire and to the window by the front door. 

I see one pup standing outside alone. 

Just waiting...

 His eyes start to tear.

You can hear the sirens of the fire trucks getting close. 

He sits. Then looks down at the lake. His tears falling and making the water ripple. 

Sorry young pup. 

Your family isn't coming out...
