Do you believe in true love?
"I love you"
Or do you prefer fated love?
"You're my soulmate"
Personally, you preferred the latter. It was simple as to why.
Because soulmates are forced to love even the most terrible sides of you. Your soulmate will love the good and bad sides of you without hesitation because you were destined for one another. A bonus would be that in every book you read about soulmates, had always ended nicely.
However, in this world soulmates did not exist. In this world, you must search for that person and earn their love. And let me tell you, it's one hell of a nuisance. Or perhaps that's just me being lazy. Luckily, by the time you had turned seventeen you had the pleasure of meeting that man who you could call a soulmate. It wasn't love at first sight but the two of you fell in love so easily that it definitely could be mistaken as such.
Portgas D. Ace. Her lover, the one you had opened your heart for as he did for you and the one who promised they would be together, always.
Still, you had to wonder as you were chained up by your wrists with a tired smile, where was Ace?
Where was the man you loved and continue to love? Sure, the reason for being chained up wasn't his fault, in fact it had nothing to do with him. You didn't know why you were calling his name internally every night and it took you a while to realise you missed him. You missed him like you missed your mother, your father and your siblings. Honestly as pathetic as it sounded just the mere thought of him gave you power.
It got to the point where you'd be in your dreams, walking hand-in-hand with him only to wake up and be beaten for information once again despite them knowing you wouldn't break. You were strong and you would get out of this.
However, not for a single second did you expect anyone to save you.
The door to the torture chambers was slammed open and despite desperately wanting to do so you couldn't gather enough strength to lift your head and see for yourself as to who your saviour was. However, the most you could do was desperately try and stay awake, focusing on the sounds of metal clashing together and punches being thrown. Surprisingly within seconds you found yourself being freed from your confines until the person stopped with a whine.
"Zoro! I can't get them off, they're sea stone!"
"Tch, you don't have to yell."
The man whom you'd assumed was Zoro had slid a key into your lock and opened it almost instantly, and another pair of arms caught you before you could collapse to the ground. As soon as you felt the warmth this person gave off you glanced up with wide eyes. "A-Ace?" The last thing you saw was the boy in front of you tilting his head to the side at your words with a serious expression before several voices called out your name and your vision turned dark.
"Y/N-Sama!"
