Anger coursed through his veins, pure and only building up by each second that passed, however he kept silent and calm for the sake of Y/N after all, she'd been dealing with this for fourteen years, he could last a few minutes. At least, Ace hoped he could. Waiting until she'd finished speaking, Ace finally allowed himself to talk after a moment of silence in which he made sure she'd finished with her explanation. Y/N watched the boy bring a hand up to ruffle his hair, tousling and messing up his locks before his lips twitched up to grace her with a kind and promising smile. Halting the hand ruffling his black locks, the fire boy then reached over to grab y/n's hands but failed to notice the bright blush that spread across her face. She really needed to get used to the touch of a man other than her father and subordinates or it could most likely cause problems in the near future.
"Y/n," Ace whispered, he barely knew this girl for more than a few days and he was already enjoying her company. At the calling of her name, the e/c eyed girl sent him a questioning look by the tilting of her head. Ace continued what he'd planned to say. "You said this first started happening fourteen years ago, right?"
y/n nodded and he hummed. Suddenly the grip on her hands grew warmer as quite literally -- y/n could see a fire blazing in his eyes. One of solid determination that promised a better life for her. She hoped that was the case, these past years which consisted of the remnants of Odens supporters and herself fighting to regain freedom, it became increasingly clear that she couldn't do it without help from other individuals in this land.
Her mothers last words were played through her brain as she grinned, perhaps there was something that would happen before the twenty years, or perhaps her mother foresaw her meeting with Ace and that's why y/n hadn't been allowed to travel to the future with the others, y/n meeting Ace must play a large part in the saving of Wano.
"I'll end it, I promise." Ace smiled. "I'll save you and the others, or I'll die trying."
Red tinted ears and firmly pressed mouth, y/n looked away from him as she barely smiled. How such a kind soul stumbled upon her and her people, she could only be grateful. Ace grinned before leaning closer to her and pressing a chaste kiss to her cheeks, that only reddened further at the action. Startled by the kiss, y/n's mouth parted slightly and her eyes flickered between the space next to his head and his eyes, it wasn't until she noticed the barely visible tint of pink on his own face that she was able to find the confidence to settle on staring back at his eyes. "W-What was that for... Ace?"
"Nothing," He kissed her again and snickered at the small startled squeak she let out, "you're just really pretty."
y/n couldn't take anymore and kind of just... fell forwards into his arms while he panicked only to realise she'd either fallen asleep or fainted. He fell on his back with a hearty laugh but couldn't help his mind stuttering when it realised the beautiful woman before him was laying on his chest, sleeping. All the overwhelming feelings that began to rise had been too much, and eventually his narcolepsy finally came in handy and right before he fell asleep, Ace softly laid an arm around her middle and placed his hat on her head to protect her from the sun, even if they were indoors.
